Fucking terrible. Rip off of a classic football (soccer) novel by Nick Hornby. I can't believe they Americanized it.

ABM- king of B movies and chick flicks.

I know it wasn't a real rip-off, but that's what it seemed like in my eyes.I've seen both. They're both good, though the "Hollywood style" ending to the American version was annoying. I'd probably favour the British one, but I'm (mostly) favourable to the American one as well.
Also, the American version wasn't a rip-off...it was done with Nick Hornby. It was an alternate adaption of the book.

What was the ending in the original?
Arsenal (protagonist's favourite team) wins, he gets the girl. I guess just as happy...but the run across the field just in time to stop the sale of the tix in the American version is what I found really silly.
The British version has a more indie film feel, the American version much more mainstream romantic comedy. What saves the American version, IMO, is that the story and characters are still good since they come from a good book.
