Derrick Rose's best play of his career was on Dragic!

Why is Kenneth Faried repeatedly the MVP for the US team? My assumption is that they force a ton of turnovers and he gets offensive rebounds which together add up to a lot of garbage points. Because he's not this good really, is he? This is just making Nolan Smith all the more painful.

If I'm right, though, the way to get the US in trouble is to slow down the pace and not turn the ball over. Oh, and have someone like Serge Ibaka to stick on Kenneth Faried.

He usually dominates in All-Star games as well.

Yawn. He's one of the best rat ball players in the world. Team USA plays rat ball. So yes, he might be the MVP. It's when teams actually run plays that he becomes more pedestrian. He lost his starting job last year for at least a while to our previously maligned PF (Hickson).

He usually dominates in All-Star games as well.

Here's the problem: Slovenia wasn't playing Alabama on American soil. It's not remotely a big deal that Cousins didn't know where Slovenia was, but it's stupid to pretend that he had a good point. It was mildly amusing is all.
I'll concede he was a smart ass, and I'm impressed because I didn't think he was that smart. ;)

So Slovenia and their dip shit reporter are now history after a 43pt beatdown by USA

It's the most points that Team USA has scored in a game this tournament.

USA! USA! USA!

Actually I would go with Cousins on this one, the place where the games are played is irrelevant in this case. Slovenia is about as relevant to his daily life as Alabama is to most European's daily life. Like everything else in the world - you have to choose what to focus on, and to assume that he needs to know the geographical location of a small European country is absurd and elitist. Good on him.

really?

Why? He's traveling abroad, most people would want to know a bit about where they're going to. If the analogy is being made between the USA and the EU, then traveling to Europe means finding out about Europe.

Slovenia is about as relevant to his daily life as Alabama is to most European's daily life.

True, but pointless. This is not his "daily life", this is a basketball game AGAINST SLOVENIA. So Slovenia is fairly relevant I would say.

"Absurd and elitist"? Wow. "I'm ignorant, and to assume that I should be otherwise is absurd and elitist." What happened to curiosity? How about saying, "no I don't - could you tell me?" Or would that be a sign of unmanliness? Or simply unAmericanness?

Just looked at the final score - wow, that escalated quickly. Maybe Spain should try to get the Final confined to just the first half.

The refs let loose in the 2nd half. In the 1st half, they had held their thumbs in the dike.

I noticed one Harden fake head jerk, which got him foul shots. I probably missed a couple more.

I have to say that the FIBA event was way too late in the summer. I've completely lost interest. Football started. School is starting. I've got work. No time for this kind of thing.

Listen bum. You think serving up Whiffy Cones is more important than your main job? This is #1 priority right here!!

He is in Spain. Not Slovenia. Ask him about Real Madrid or Barcelona. That's like expecting tourists to NY to know about say the Empire state building, not Crater Lake.

It is relevant? Their basketball players are, their coach, their plays, but Slovenia the country? No.

Assuming that things that are relevant to you and not others is absurd and elitist, as he perfectly demonstrated to her, as he is, after all, from Alabama. Clearly, since she is interviewing a basketball player before or after a game she should know about his birthplace...

France up by 7 vs Spain in the second quarter. Spain can't hit threes.

Batum always guards Rudy, but I can't tell how often vis-versa. Spain is hurt by Sergio getting hurt. Let's see whether he returns. I don't think so. He was hurt in 3 places.

Lull or Rodriguez?

I love everything about diaws game, including his attitude. No one is ever going to pry him from the spurs but I would love if we could!

US gotta be rooting hard for France.

Seriously torn: don't want Nic to lose, but Spain is the only team with a chance against the US...

I bet Nic is one of those players that really let's you know when you've done something wrong. These younger guys probably get an earful from them at practice. Had some words for Gobert after that dumb foul.

Pau Gasol leading Spain in blocks easily over Ibaka. He's got the spring back.

Rudy drawing the offensive foul from Nic on one end, then getting the oop from Sergio on the other to get Spain the lead. A very Blazer-centric sequence.

That was awesome, nic getting back doomed by the Rudy Sergio oop!
