Why is Kenneth Faried repeatedly the MVP for the US team? My assumption is that they force a ton of turnovers and he gets offensive rebounds which together add up to a lot of garbage points. Because he's not this good really, is he? This is just making Nolan Smith all the more painful.

If I'm right, though, the way to get the US in trouble is to slow down the pace and not turn the ball over. Oh, and have someone like Serge Ibaka to stick on Kenneth Faried.

He usually dominates in All-Star games as well.

Yawn. He's one of the best rat ball players in the world. Team USA plays rat ball. So yes, he might be the MVP. It's when teams actually run plays that he becomes more pedestrian. He lost his starting job last year for at least a while to our previously maligned PF (Hickson).

Here's the problem: Slovenia wasn't playing Alabama on American soil. It's not remotely a big deal that Cousins didn't know where Slovenia was, but it's stupid to pretend that he had a good point. It was mildly amusing is all.

Actually I would go with Cousins on this one, the place where the games are played is irrelevant in this case. Slovenia is about as relevant to his daily life as Alabama is to most European's daily life. Like everything else in the world - you have to choose what to focus on, and to assume that he needs to know the geographical location of a small European country is absurd and elitist. Why? He's traveling abroad, most people would want to know a bit about where they're going to. If the analogy is being made between the USA and the EU, then traveling to Europe means finding out about Europe.
