I would think Hart, Winslow, Dame are very tradable contracts. Can we do sign and trades with Nurk and/or Simons?
Uh, Dame doesn't count as a tradeable contract because we're not trading him. Hart+Winslow add up to $17M and it'll be hard to extract value out of a Hart deal because he's on a good contract but isn't a rebuild/reset type of player so you'd have to attach assets to that sort of package. Assets that we don't have.

cronin can not be allowed to stay a single any day longer as our gm. If we are not careful he will throw away any asset we have as soon as he can. Someone might offer a cold turkey sandwich for our first round pick and he will take it. Hopefully he will atleast accept he was not meant for this job and hand in his resignation on Monday so we can try and salvage this disaster. Draft day with cronnin in charge would be a horror I pray we don't have to witness.

I'd legitimately feel more comfortable with Eric Brandt in charge.

Uh, jesus....bad day? I wasnt advocating trading Dame and most in here no I never have been, however, he is an asset, and he is tradable at any point, hopefully not for along time.
Are there sign and trade options with either Nurk and/or Ant.

Be honest. Who in the media could be critical of the CJ deal without drawing a negative reaction? At least Smith's take isn't based on some perverse loyalty to Olshey. (EG Woj or Jaynes)

wut?

ok...you lost me. I read the article and all I saw was criticism of Morey and the deal he made for Harden...the guy who had 22 points and 14 assists today. I didn't see any criticism of the CJ trade

Man! The doom and gloom in here is REDONCULOUS. Chill........ Give Cronin some time. I'm sure as heck glad many of you aren't the GM. We'd be doomed for decades.

Unless I linked the wrong article, he stated that Philly should have gone for a CJ-for-Simmons deal. That flies in the face of the narrative that only a mindless Blazer homer would think CJ had any value.

Just to be clear - I agree with trading CJ, but I do not agree there was no choice but to trade him for roasted goat crap. Nor do I agree with the media people who are trying to spin the deal to make Olshey look good. I am disgusted with bozos like Dwight who condemn the deal because Cronin made it, and would defend it if Olshey had made it.

Rant over. Just pretend I am not here.

I mean, we haven't won a title in coming up on 50 years. So.....

Cronin needs to go.

Please explain why. He had to clear cap space, get beneath the tax threshold, and move the team into a position where it may be able to draft a top talent in this years draft. Seems like check, check, check. We haven't seen what he can do in Free Agency, or the Draft yet. So it's quite premature to say ,"He has to go".

If we win the lottery it’s gonna be so funny to read how fast optimism replaces depression in this thread.

I respectfully disagree. You promote an internal candidate to the interim position on the assumption they can hit the ground running. If he needs time - then why not just launch an immediate search for an outside candidate? Personally, I wouldn't give the job to an Olshey enabler/yes man/mini-me under any circumstances - but I'm cranky that way.

I feel Cronin did hit the ground running. And, " The hairdo" was his boss. Doesn't mean he agreed with everything he did.

Not premature at all. He made two trades where we gave up the best talent. One was a gamble that didn't work out. Giving up CJ and Nance for Hart and a 1st in 2025 is hilariously bad.

We aren't going to be contenders next year.

Cronin sucks.

We'll leave the light on for you , so you can climb aboard the wagon when you're wrong.

Lol didn't you say last year we would be contenders too? How did that work out for ya?
Hey, like a lot of people, i didn't know how bad Dame's injury was. Shows how special he truly is, when he can have a great series vs. Denver despite having to manage the pain.

I just know being a Negative Nancy or Debbie Downer doesn't do the heart good. That's why i've had to stop watching the news on a regular basis.

My 19 year old puddy is cranky too. Maybe it's the full moon.

Even if Dame wasn't hurt that team had zero chance of competing. Get real.

It is called being realistic with the current state of the team. I want to see Dame actually have a chance at playing for something. That won't be with us.

Apparently you haven’t been a Blazer fan long…

no one wants to come to Portland. We aren’t a free agency destination

I have a sulking pit in my stomach thinking of the horrendous return got in those trades.. it gets even worse thinking Cronin might actually Be the permanent gm. His performance as gm has been a disgrace. We are the laughing stalk of the league. Might be many years before we pull our self out of this. There is no way we build a contender with dame now with how little assets we got back in our fire sale.
Amen.

Did some of you forget why Neil Olshey was fired?
Wasn’t there an investigation into his way of running the team?
How many times do you think Joe had ideas that were stepped on? How many deals could have happened in the last two years that were no longer available 4 months ago?
How many teams simply would not deal with the Blazers due to the situation they were in?
