The Dame thing is semantics and I'm sorry I got involved with it (although it was really obvious at the time). I guess the question is do you want to spend another eight years with a GM that delivers six playoff wins outside of the first round? If not then how many years? If you're OK with just making the playoffs and leaving after the first round then hold onto Neil but if you want to win a championship, why would you hold onto him for one more day?So if Lillard is not his guy, he can trade him instead of CJ?
I don’t want to argue with you about this. Believe what you want, I really don’t care.So if Paul Allen ALSO wanted CJ McCollum, we shouldn't give Olshey any credit?
He has to have a DIFFERENT opinion to get credit? Is this how this works?

Neil is riding on the shoulders of Dame.
Lillard is so good that he can will a mediocre roster to the playoffs each year.
Reality is - even with a healthy CJ/Nurk - Dame has to play superhuman to stay in most games. It’s been like this for years.
FIRE NEIL!!!

We should examine Neil Olshey's basketball credentials. He played AAU basketball but was just some kid playing ball. Doesn't do anything with basketball again until his thirties. He then volunteers as an assistant coach at a Southern California high school basketball powerhouse Artesia. There the best player he assists in coaching is Jason Kapono. Then Olshey turns his attention to the racket of inflating the draft stock of prospects by starting a company that helps them prepare for combines and the interview process. Then probably finds out where a body is buried and is picked up by the Clippers where he worked his way up to GM in five years. Then this never ending monsoon of mediocrity worms his way into our team where the front office had already decided on drafting Damian Lillard and since then he's road Lillard's coattails for nine years.
Im not sure Jody has the same passion about a championship? Hope Im wrong. I do think she probably parallels the Vulcan's way of accessing business performance. This isn't just a bump.
I was just thinking, if Olshey doesn't do something big at the deadline the guy either knows his job is safe regardless of playoff performance or he's out of the loop with the Vulcans. It's really an interesting situation because if it's the former our ownership doesn't give a shit about contending (which would be infuriating) and if it's the latter Olshey is just as detached by his arrogance as he seems to be most of the time in public (which would be hilarious).

(fill in the Neil quote)
Look, you need to understand that right now, 2 of our starters are out and one is still trying to find his rhythm coming back from an injury. When everybody gets healthy, we can make a run for the title
