Is it against forum policy to let me say we should execute all Olshey defenders, especially O-Live ones?
Okay. I won't say it.
I’m starting to miss John Nash

It's time.
You phone the Prayer Patriots. I'll tap out the secret code to the Antifa.

What about waiting for the next moves to be known? Just throwing a name: Boogie. I like the "what if" games. But "what if" the goal is to be able to throw the full MLE at a recrovering Boogie Cousins for 2 years (1 year + 1 year player option) and sign him long term next year? Will he really get more than that on the open market after his injury? Not sure at all. The connexion between him and Dame is clear. If you go to Dame and sell him this plan (let Ed go to sign DMC), I bet Dame is not against it.
I know it's possible that we'll all be disappointed in the end. But I just can't imagine NeO having pressure from Dame and do nothing but letting his buddy go for nothing back.
Yea we traded Ed, Napier and Pat for fucking Stauskas, Simons and Trent jr. Thats our moves so far. If nothing happens anymore we probably miss the Playoffs Next yearI get home from work hoping things have changed.
We still only have Staukus, No Ed Davis, and Neil is somehow still the fucknugget at GM.
Quick on radio just said, "Neil is fighting for his job right now."
Is he legitimately in trouble? "No question. In the end of season press conference, when he was so condescending to fans, the tide turned. He keeps selling the future and hints at future moves, that always keep getting pushed back. I don't see how Paul can justify keeping him unless he greatly improves the roster."
I disagree. I think a team really needs to have their GM in place by at least the all-star game so that they have plenty of time to assess the team, scout the draft, and establish a plan for the future. It would be frustrating to fire him now, and not right before the draft. Should allow a new GM that opportunity to put his stamp on the draft, not let neil do it, and then fire him. But, whatever. Barring something to push us forward, getting rid of him now works for me.
He could have also said the same about Napier; the first half of the year was his best; he had some value at the trade deadline. This guy brings up a good point; if Olshey was gonna let Ed go eventually, why didn't he trade him at the deadline, when we could have at least got a 2nd round pick for him?
He also suggests that Olshey could have retained Vonleh, got Nicholson's salary off the books in one year, and still stayed under the cap if he had traded Ed for a pick.
"Hell, if staying under tax last year was goal, could've retained Nicholson, traded Ed for value at deadline, retained Vonleh & STILL under tax.
Hypothetical: Under tax, Nichol. off books quickly, Ed traded for pick.
Actual: Under tax, Nichol. on until 2024, Ed leave for nothing."
He makes another good point in this article: each of Olshey's moves, in isolation, seem to make sense; but in the big picture he is doing a bad job.

Good question; you better go ask Mr. Griffith.I'm struggling to see how this one is possible. We were JUSt under the LT this year. Nicholson has a higher per year salary than Davis, at 6.6 versus 6.3. How are we supposed to trade 6.3 Davis for pure cap space and "value", and retain 3.5 Vonleh, 6.6 Nicholson, and be under the tax, exactly?

Not sure about Vonleh, but since Nicholson's contract was averaged out over a few years, part of it counted this year. So, yes if we could have traded Ed with nothing coming back, then we could have avoided stretching Nicholson.I'm struggling to see how this one is possible. We were JUSt under the LT this year.
