yes, for sure, when there is a 7 inch difference in head height. Blazers, and Powell, are damn lucky Porter is so inexperienced in the playoffs. If Powell was defending Tatum or Lebron, his standing reach would not matter

Quick said just the opposite IIRC. Said something like "Olshey wouldn't trade CJ for PG13...no reason to think that would change for Harden". Bottom line was he didn't know....again, IIRC
You don't play basketball with the top of your head.

The thing you do keep missing when talking about Norm's size is actual size. Yes he is long enough to play SF but look at his body. He isn't big enough. Just watch how Porter eclipses him on plays. The guy just isn't as tall or thick as a legit forward. The bigger problem is and always will be that CJ is completely out of position on defense when playing with Dame. I don't know why you like the roster we have and I don't know why you think that CJ and Dame are even close to a good fit next to each other.

It's chapter 387 in the 'Olshey Can do no Wrong' book

(relax Bones, I'm just yanking your chain)

This morning I got the chance to talk with someone who is a member of an NBA coaching fraternity. He went over some very specific details regarding the Blazer 'defense' and how poor their scheme is along with the subsequent very poor rotations. We went over specific plays and he pointed out how poorly coached each situation was over and over again.....to the point it almost couldn't be done worse.

It was interesting to hear his perspective and highlighted what many of us have felt from what we see already.

There is no teaching. And the schemes are nonexistent. Norman said as much

I'm not liking some of the things said attributed to Powell because it makes me worry he won't re-sign in Portland
Besides money what does Portland offer that other teams would have a hard time meeting or beating. Sometimes its a simple as where you would like to live. I turned down several opportunities to relocate for more money, and it came down to where I wanted to live and family.

It doesn’t matter what players you get. Stotts is absolute cancer. Worst coach in last 40 years. That ugly pathetic clueless smug on his face makes me sick. He should not be allowed to coach a High school team because he cant develop anyone. He has the most losses via sweep then any coach ever. Why? Because he doesn’t believe in adjustments and he is incapable of adjustments. Has he figured out the Dame trap? For 9 years he is been useless and pathetic

You seem to be a VERY angry person. I hope this isn’t how you are in the real world.

I feel like you're underrating Norman's strength. MPJ hits shots over legitimately sized SFs. I feel like Norm is fine against any other SF on a western conference playoff team. He should've been put on AG and RoCo on MPJ to be honest.

I get the point, I just feel like people are overexaggerating Powell's lack of size.

As far as the C.J. thing, I feel like he and Dame could be average defenders under the right coach. I also feel like they could be even more lethal in a better offensive system. I'm NOT against trading C.J. either. I just feel like there isn't a single good realistic candidate to trade him for this off-season. Therefore, I want a new coach to see how Dame and C.J. look under them, and then at the deadline if it still isn't working as well as I would hope, then you canvas the trade market for a C.J. trade, when there might be better options.

So the question is, do you keep the band together and see what they can do with a different coach?

Im glad you posted this...
Can you provide some specific examples of what he shared?

I wouldn't blame him. I wouldn't want to resign & play out of position every night.

I'd tell Neil to not waste him time making an offer unless CJ has been traded

Nope im calm and relaxed until remember stotts been a coach of my team for almost a decade
Same with me haha. I'm totaly relaxed person who is friendly to everyone and i'm treating everyone with respect, but when it comes to sport, in basketball the Blazers, in soccer Bayern Munich and in Formula 1 Kimi Räikkönen (those 3 are my favourite sports) i'm completely changing and become another person :D i have no idea why that is, it’s actually just sport, it’s like i'm two different persons and in the heat of the game i go completely off. I need to work on myself in the future not to take everything so seriously

Could we have him talk to Neil, Bert and Jody?
