The Blazers were 7-5 after a loss at home to Chicago. The question is moot, though. The team does NOT pass the sniff test as a consistent winner. The collapses of the offense at critical times, and the inconsistent defensive effort, are a sign of bad coaching and the fact that the very makeup of the team is broken, and will continue to be as long as Damian and CJ play together. One on them has to go, and CJ's trade value has never been higher. Stotts has a very limited time to pull his head out of his ass and find a way to make this broken puzzle of a roster somehow fit together. The schedule is only going to get tougher, and Damian's career in Portland is ticking.
Imagine for a second Jimmy Butler on the Blazers instead of McCollum. Size - check. Defensive intensity - check. Provides 20+ PPG - check. Holds his teammates accountable - check. There is a good chance Chicago may have accepted a trade package centering around McCollum if NO had bothered to call them.

4 of our 6 losses have been by a combined 9pts.....finishing games is not our strong point this season

Our coach isn't our strong point at all.
I'm not ready to use Stotts as the reason...he's obviously frustrated and tried a rotation that failed last night....back to back losses usually bring out the torches and pitchforks...that's a given. We rely on Chief to stop quicker guards at the rim......we're not nearly as good without his defense

Aminu is a bench player at best. He’s not the reason we lost.

Not to mention having Crabbe start as our two guard next to Dame. Much better size but we'd lose the playmaking ability of CJ. Leaving us with just dame who could get their own shot and Nurk to some extent.

lol no. Just no. Nurk is out there at all, we win. It's stotts fault. There's no other justification.

What I saw was Pat C, ET and CJ turning the ball over and fouling guys like nobody's biz at the end of the game....there was a stretch where we just gave them the game....Nurk or not...credit where credit is due....those guys let the game slip away at the end

I didn't like Stotts gameplan last night....but I'm not throwing him under the bus for that game

Mo Harkless couldn't finish a layup or tip in all night.....or shoot a 3....we didn't have offensive production from the forwards at all

Jimmy butler is more than capable of getting his own shot.

you miss the 3rd qtr of the game?
Pretty sure he’s talking about the 4th. Basketball is a game of runs. Nurk could’ve easily gone off in the 4th if he got any chance.

Nurk left the game in the 3rd when we were up by 8, 62-54. 30 seconds later, we went up by 10, 65-55. He didn't come back in until we were down 69-65, and they made a contested three shortly after to make it 72-65. 14 points of the 17-0 run were without Nurkic on the floor. He broke the run with a layup right after.

So how was he responsible for our third quarter downfall?

I didn't blame Nurk...I'm saying he was on the court when we lost the lead and he didn't play good defense during that stretch. Nobody did

But I just showed you that he wasn't on the court when we lost the lead.

he was...just not for all 17 pts of the run....defense is a team skill...we didn't keep a string on D all night ...I'm baffled Nurk didn't play the end game just like everybody else..I'm just not assuming he would have saved the day last night...Pat, CJ and ET would still turn over the ball when the game was on the line

Okay!

Just got home.

I'll take care of it in a bit.

Nurkic allowed 3 points during the 3rd?!

Three points....as I stated.

Okay, use the past year to throw him under the bus then. Everything I said in the OP is stuff that is still happening now. @yuyuza1 and others thought it was a stupid overreaction, but I've always been right about Stotts.
