The calls were awful. CJ had a nice mid-range jumper he missed with a couple minutes to go, but that was the last quality shot the Blazers got off. The rest was broken offensive plays and crap defense.

I think 35 in the 4th is not a problem. They got good shots even the ones they missed. But Yes I am frustrated with the lack of offensive rebounds.

I agree on Davis. Was he hurt? If not he needed to be in there. Layman needs a few more practices with the team after being gone.

No Stotts goes between Meyers and Davis every other game. So next game we will see Davis instead of meyers

Horrible. Worse to watch in person I'll tell you. You can't win games with low percentage shots and high school defense in the 4th

Yeah but Davis has only played in 3 of the last 11 games. I think he was hurt. Thought he might still be.

Lots of talk about the moves they think Stotts should be making and in game type adjustments.
Some people even think Stotts needs to go. If you think so or think not this is the place to make your argument.

I personally feel Stotts is probably top 5 in the NBA as coaches go. He seems to deal with players and personalities as well as any out there and he wins games with rosters that have deficiencies. He game plans well and he can draw up a good look when the team needs it. This year and the end of last year brought improved defense with the addition of a true center.

He can only perform as well as the players he has on any given night and right now he seems to be developing players well with the improvement noted in Pat Con and Turner. Lets hope Vonleh also continues to progress as last nights loss to the Clippers might have been different with him in the lineup.

I voted top 10. That's my gut, without trying to come up with a list of guys I'd rather have.

My take is that he's adjusted his schemes to match the skills of his players each season. He's gotten us to the playoffs our first two seasons rebuilding. He has developed younger guys into contributors or stars.

Though they didn't play good D last season, he had them playing D the year before and this.

The players are inconsistent, and we're still a winning team.

Their Defense last year improved at the end with Nurkic. But yes i would like to see it continue to improve.
 
Off the top of my head I can think of only one player who has done better after they have left the Blazers and Stott's system and that's Batum. That's because Batum went from being the #4 option here to the #2 option for the Jordan Lite's. And when you look at the numbers they didn't increase that much.


But lets say that we had Pops instead of Stotts, could he have taken this team any further in the playoffs? Just not seeing it. Our "problem" is a lack of talent. Not under coaching the talent we have.

I think the world of Pops, when LMA first went there I thought he would turn LMA into a MVP level player. LOLZ. Stotts got more out of LMA than even Pops could.
 
He's an average coach. He's good, but not great.
At certain points, I think the players start tuning out the coach. I think we are there with Stotts.

Good point. Not sure Pops could get more out of what the Blazers have?

I agree. I see absolutely no evidence of the players turning on Stotts.
 
I like Stotts. These days the personnel is more important than the coach. Is Tyronn Lue a championship caliber coach? Do people consider Thibbs a high caliber coach? The Wolves are 2-3 after acquiring 2 more All-Stars to go with their young studs. I think a coach can only do so much.
