Pops has that Spurs team in playoff position right now which is an absolute miracle.

Yeah basically I'm just responding to the "Our roster has no hope we only have one all-star womp womp" stuff. We have a lot of talent on this team.

I love Pop....don't get me wrong...I also love that he didn't get fired after losing Kawhi and his big 3 of Duncan, Parker and Ginobli....but he's not racking up playoff success really since Duncan and now he's put Aldridge, Mills, DeRozan and Gay on the trading block.....see how that affects his playoff run this time around.....as I've said....I like franchise loyalty not just with San Antonio and Pops but with Portland and Stotts too. Through the ups and downs....I think we're in good shape

I find this to be an odd take from you. If my memory is correct, you were saying the injuries were no big deal because there is basically no drop off between CJ/Trent and Nurk/Kanter.

So if CJ is easily an all-star and Trent is no real drop off from CJ, why didn't Trent make the all-star team and only get one vote?

Either CJ is an all-star or there is a drop off from CJ to Trent, but it can't be both.

There's a number of reasons why a team might not be getting playoff success. The best coach in the league might have a lottery team depending on what the issues are. In my opinion, you have to watch the team on a night in, night out basis to truly understand the biggest issues that plague it.

Based on watching the Blazers night in, night out, my opinion is what it is and I know everyone know what it is. I just dislike when people make it out like other coaches have to suck too because of their record alone because of my criticism of Stotts. It's weird to me. Not saying that's what you're doing, that's just a deflection tactic I've seen quite a bit.

I have never once said their is "basically no drop off between CJ/Trent and Nurk/Kanter". I don't know where you're getting your information from.

My whole point was that we have really good backups that we can still win a lot of games with if we play the right style of basketball. Not coincidentally, our best game in terms of style of play I'd say was the first Philly game, when we blew them out without Dame, CJ, and Nurkic, and when we weren't starting a true PG. Doesn't mean their was "little to no dropoff" from Dame to Rodney Hood, but it did show how playing a good style of basketball gives you a higher chance to win no matter what the personnel is, and playing such a style isn't dependent on personnel. We had some of the best ball movement all season in the game where we didn't have a point guard. And on another topic, did you see Kanter hedge and recover perfectly in the final minutes last night? Yes he was in a zone defensively but it didn't look like a guy who is incapable of hedging or trapping. That might be the easiest thing to have him do instead of sagging him onto his heels and letting guards drive straight at him.

With one legit center in the rotation I've noticed Kanter is not contesting at the rim because he'll get in foul trouble until the 4th qtr...then he gets aggressive knowing he's not fouling out early and can finish the game...often our best defense is in the 4th qtr....and I think part of the style of play we use throughout a game is affected by our players not getting foul calls...not trusting refs to let them play physical on the other end....it's uncanny how we aren't able to bang in the post without sending the other team to the line yet we are getting mauled in the paint...now a guy like Zach Collins will not wait until the 4th to get aggressive on the ball and he'll pick up really early fouls and have to sit.....to me...Enes is playing a smart game and picking his spots

Some in here think they are experts when it comes to managing and coaching pro basketball, but they never make a suggestion as to they would like to see as a replacement.

Yeah I'd like it if we hired Shane Battier as GM and Brian Shaw as head coach.

Former players make the worst GMs. Hire a real wheeler-dealer. Until the mid-80s, the GM of most teams was the minority owner. That was awful too.

Like I said, I hope that the Vulcans would have better ideas than me. I just think that Shaw had a no win situation with the Nuggets (look at those rosters in 13-14 and 14-15) and the mid season moves. I think he's coached under really good and great coaches, I think he's a guy that understands players, I know he will provide more accountability than Stotts and I know that him and Dame have known each other for a long time and he's helped Dame a lot in the past. Might ease the sting of losing the only pro coach Dame's ever had.

Guys that haven't been mentioned are guys like Don Nelson, Pat Riley and John Paxson have done really well in the recent past. Then right now you have the guys mentioned plus Morey, James Jones, Calvin Booth, and Sean Marks that all had legit decade plus NBA careers. All of these guys have made good moves and are probably looked at as successful GMs.

Say what you want about Stotts but Al-Farouq Aminu and Mo Harkless are basically out of the league now as rotation players, played their best in Portland, and neither is over 30 years old.

Aminu has been injured for a long time (knee). He just returned from injury a couple of weeks ago. He had 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks in his last game in 25 minutes
 
Playing with Dame role players have a ton of space to operate...all their best defenders are on him...guys like Chief and Mo and Ed Davis love playing with him...they have room to move..how many of these guys including Nurk say....he makes the game easy for me? He makes my job easy!

CJ might have got in if he didn't get hurt only if other players pulled out because they were hurt maybe? And as it stands they just let Conley in for Booker. Heck last year when Lillard pulled out even he named Booker over CJ.

CJ was literally 14th on the players ballot. Saying he would have "easily been an All Star" is a stretch at the very least.
Fan rank he was 10th. Media he got Zero votes.

This is just the western conference. Now in the east he might have done a bit better if he played a whole season in that conference.

It is way easier to say you disagree with the decision of others, especially after things haven't worked, than to lay out what/who you do support before hand.
