Can we at least donate this driver's 5M to the fans that put up with this shit? Since driver of this honda accord has no utility.
I'm down with that idea!

Do you really need to change drivers to know that a dependable Honda Accord isn't winning the Indy 500?
One area that I think Stotts has been Ok in the past is giving time and encouragement to young players, at least in Simons case, CJ. Sometimes when maybe not deserved. Vonleh, Leonard. But I think he has really failed with Little; I think he may be affecting his confidence negatively, with his sporadic minutes and quick yanks. A young player who is just developing his shot needs some consistent minutes.
If you are asking why I don't complain about his neglect of Giles; I think both come from Stotts' desperation this second half of the season. Every coach hates to be fired; so he is trying to play it safe. I don't care as much about Giles, I guess because I don't have as high hopes for him as I have for Little. What happened to Giles?
2020 Indy 500 Winner - Honda powered
In fact, 13 times since 2004, it has been Honda horsepower crossing the finish line first.
I actually think we should fire Olshey and Stotts the day the season ends and we likely miss the playoffs. Hire a new GM asap and that GM should put everyone not named Dame on the block. Let the teams around the league know that we're open for business and see what we can get. They are not going to Fire Stotts in the season at this point but if he is still here next season i will be surprised cause this is getting pathetic.
Players to keep
Dame
Covington ( maybe )
Everyone else we can talk about simple as that .....
Im telling ya, that guy is going to be good get from someone someday. Did you see how he coached that summer league team a few years ago, he was enthusiastic, direct and coached well, even though it was a summer league game touney I was impressed how players responded to him. Thats two games in a row he was interviewed at half and you could tell he was pissed.Jim Moran showed more accountability in his minute long halftime interview the other day than Stotts has all year. Just end it already and let one of the assistants finish out the year. STOTTS HAS LOST THE TEAM.

Regardless of this winning streak, this team needs a new coach. There's no way this roster should be competing for a play-in spot.Lose a few games and they fire Stotts fans come out.
Win a few games and they retreat unheard.

I agree that this team is far worse than the sum of it's parts and it's not just because of Stotts' coaching IMO. Like you said our personnel, especially Dame and CJ, don't fit together. This is why I advocate that the team (Jody and the Vulcans) fire Neil, hire a new GM and give that GM a mandate to make the drastic changes that are needed to take a team from competing to make it in the playoffs to a team competing for a championship. To me that new GM would obviously fire Terry. They would obviously trade CJ and make other moves. We just have to wait and see.I disagree. I think this roster is heavily overrated by some on this forum.
Not to suggest Stotts is a good coach, but considering the poor fit of the parts, I don't think this is a particularly good roster.
I will say again that if I'm wrong and Olshey is right, we should make our best run yet and at least win one game in the WCF. .
I wouldn't worry about it because there's no way we're making it there but yeah, for me if we show that we're progressing in the right direction then they should both stay on. A win in the WCF is further than they've taken us... I think that would be enough.just winning 1 game preserves both their jobs?
let's see, at that rate Portland would make the finals in 2027, when Dame is 36. Then they'd win it all when Dame is on Medicare
Yeah, I think that the players have buttoned up some shit that should have been fixed a long time ago. So here's some really easy logic (no gymnastics necessary). The fact that the team was basically not trying at all and Stotts was making excuses for them was completely unacceptable. The players now playing with focus since "enough is enough" means that they are showing some resilience. That might be because Stotts is now actually doing his job or it might just be something the players are making happen by holding each other accountable. To those who said our 5 game losing streak was a sign Stotts has lost a team, I'm assuming you also feel this 4 game road win streak (all double digit wins) means the players are fighting for Stotts?
<insert mental gymnastics below>

How can you judge the fit of the parts when it’s a known that Stotts can’t integrate role players other than parking their ass in a corner and letting them shoot 3s.I disagree. I think this roster is heavily overrated by some on this forum.

And he can’t coach defense to save his fucking ass
Or hold people accountable.
Or put players in position to succeed / play to their strengths.
Stotts is an absolute fucking dingleberry of a coach
Of course they will. Already have people saying Stotts saved his job with this winning streak.Spot on. I hope people don't get memory loss after a first round win. Our roster has an embarrassment of riches, there's no way this team should have been under performing so much in the playoffs. The coach has got to go. The players put it upon themselves to figure out. No thanks to the coach.

The only thing that matters to me at this point is the end result. If this team with Stotts as the head coach makes it to the WCF and wins at least one game, they are making progress and both Stotts and Olshey should probably stay. If we go out in either the first or second round... or get swept out of the conference finals, we need a new GM and a new head coach.
