Give it a year and the team's record will be bad enough to justify it. If the blazers fire him now I doubt that is going to make management look all that competent ... And why would Thibs want to jump into that clown car?

Nah, I've wanted a Pop type for years. We had McMillan who had the demanding part but not the intelligence. I wanted Thibs then and still do but you can't fire Stotts right now.

oh come on. You attract free agents by being a winning franchise! If Stotts fields a team that makes it to the WCF, he would have just as much luck bringing in FA as Thibs.

I wasn't happy with his playoff performance, but I don't see any reason to fire him now that we've blown up the team. Terry has as good of a chance to succeed with this band of misfits as anyone else. Put together a playoff roster and then we can talk coaching if we think Terry isn't getting enough out of them. Who knows, maybe Terry can mold the team into a competitor.

Thibs would be great right now since we got a lot of new faces he can make them play defense and offense to there highest. With terry I don't see that happening.

Keep him and assign an inexpensive capable defensive coach to the staff. Our presence in the Memphis series certainly did not help the Stotts cause .
