I bought some of those LED light bulbs from Dollar Tree and have been really impressed.

LED lights that are far more environmentally friendly can be produced in warmer, more realistic colors than incandescents. I have some experience in this field since I built an LED in my solid state devices lab in college. One of my buddies is an expert in LED lighting. We should all be using LEDs.

Incandescents have a warm color which can be matched by both very efficient compact flourescents and even slightly more efficient LEDs. LEDs last longer than any other bulb while incandescent lights have a short life span.

Too late, I'm already laughing my ass off every time I look at Trump's orange face. from the orange to now.
 
I use incandescent bulbs still, I don’t have any trouble finding them. I prefer them over LED because I don’t like my house looking like the inside of Walmart. I prefer the soft yellow glow of incandescent over the bright white that makes my living room look like a doctors office.

I guess I should look for some of these. I bought a bunch of LEDs awhile back to save on the power bill but just couldn’t stand that bluish white light.

They make LEDs with a variety of light color. Warm (on the color spectrum) is what most people like.
 
I am very pleased to have the highly efficient and and low cost 100W heater available again for my well house and the engine compartment on MarAzul.

I asked Peter DeFazio in a meeting in Coos Bay if he had considered all the uses of a 100 watt light bulb, when he voted to ban them?
He said it was Constitutional.:blink:

The United States isn't just about you marzy. Quit looking at the small picture and open your eyes to the big picture. LED bulbs are way more efficient and environmentally safer than incandescent light bulbs. You need to start thinking of your grandkids and beyond.

What is your recommendation for heating a small space more efficiently than with a single light bulb?

Oh I do. And I don't need these do good heros working on stuff that is not their business. Baning devices being sold for multitude of valid reasons is not there business, you don't need them doing it, neither do I.
A Mexican quickly fixed the shortage with 92watt label change.

Kind of like a salesmen with a new quota and gadget.

Looking at the charts, it clearly shows using LED bulbs is far more efficient and the cost is rapidly recovered and is less than incandescent bulbs.

Compare that number with the number of LED lights sold. Those incandescents are virtually nil in comparison.

LEDs don’t produce heat. Lighting aside, I’m just sayin incandescents are a viable and energy efficient way to prevent freezing in colder climates, and it’s a widely used application. Any available alternatives (space heaters, heat tape, etc.) use a lot more energy. LEDs are fine for lighting and people will use them to save money, they basically sell themselves from that perspective, I just don’t think banning incandescents is a reasonable thing to do. They have their purposes.

It depends on how much heat you need. If you only need a little heat then they do a good job but you'd better buy them while you can because the production needs are going to be so tiny that the market will effectively dry up. It's going to cost more to supply the small quantities than is economically feasible for production lines to run.

How about a 100 watts? You can use two if 200 watts is the need.

ummm, it doesn't seem we need any government action here. Just let things run the course. :dunno:

But then, there are a lot of well houses, Boats moored, Chick incubators, and lord knows....

Chick incubators are an interesting application for the 100 watt light bulb. Using 75s won't get er done. Using 150s will kill the chicks. I am guessing the 92s worked though.
