Politics Trump charged in probe of Jan. 6, efforts to overturn 2020 election

I did skim through it. I find the basis for which the indictment asserts that Trump "knew" his claims were false are asinine. Basically "people told him it was false therefore he knew it". Huh?

The idea that he incited the Jan 6 riot is asinine. It's also selective prosecution as the democreeps have done worse.

Only legit issue I see is him having false electors. It says he organized false electors to submit their ballots in with the legit ones. You could say that is some sort of fraud crime. Along with that, telling Pence not to count the votes is some kind of obstruction.

So there is something there, but in the greater context of the clear politically motivated crap thrown at him vs nothing for the much more serious crimes committed by other officials that are getting of scott-free.....
When you couple the false electors and telling Pence not to count the votes with telling a huge crowd chanting "Fight For Trump" to go to the capital and "fight like hell" it's a pretty damning case. Especially once the crowd literally went to the capital, stormed it, and physically assaulted the police who were there. And there is a ton more evidence as well.

I don't see anybody else with that much evidence against them for such a serious crime, and if there are then they should also be locked up.

I’m waiting for the thread title “Trump convicted of treason obstruction of Justice and the espionage act as well as witness tampering and perjury” when he’s serving 40 years without parole I’ll celebrate finally making America great again! Anybody still propping this lying traitor up is accepting the partisan weaponization of the presidency. Move to a country with a dictator or monarch if that’s what you vote for but leave our democracy alone! There’s simply no way any of us would be free today if we did what that fucking liar has done. He’s got zero loyalty to anyone. Go ahead and give him your money if you’re foolish enough to drink his purple kool aid

You should probably read it, since you still don't seem to understand that it's not about the riot.

Yeah, when people tell you facts you are then aware of them. Unless you put your fingers in your ears and say "LALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU", which automatically grants you a get-out-of-jail-free card. Those are the rules.

That's not what this indictment is for, and what have the democreeps done that was worse?

You are starting to get it. Better get those fingers in your ears quick!

What are those much more serious crimes and who did them?

No, because "fight" is a common euphemism for political protest and action. He told the crowd to be peaceful and orderly. And juxtipose this with comments from leading democrats, encouraging the BLM riots, or Maxine Waters encouraging actual terrorism against republican politicians. A very small percentage of the people there were actually violent, and many of those were provocatuers.

Then the MSM and democreeps flip their lid when the surveillance gets released, showing them calmly leading the Shaman around the building. Almost all of the political violence and terrorism over the past few years has been left-wing.

Then this incident occurs which doesn't even reach the magnitude of the protests that took place months earlier and they milk it like it's a new pearl habor etc.....such nonsense.

Too many to mention. Just look at the war crimes and death/destruction wrecked by the last few administrations, from Bush through Obama. Countless violations of the constitution. Biden is corrupt as they come but the MSM ignores that for the most part, in favor of fixating on Trump.

The speck in Trump's eye is under a constant magnifying glass while the atrocities being committed are ignored.

It's selective prosecution. We're not indicting all the other former presidents and leaders for their crimes. The actions against Trump are clearly politically motivated. The Alvin Bragg case...come on, could that be any more obvious? Then they indict Trump for the very same offense Biden has been caught doing multiple times.

I don't think Trump is that great, but I could clearly see they were desparate to make a villian out of him from the start. Before he took office, they were already comparing him to Hitler.

What do they have on him aside from him asking Pence not to count the votes? Meanwhile you got corrupt Joe Biden raking in millions of dollars through his shell companies, doing crap like blowing up the Nord Stream Pipeline, issuing illegal executive orders....not that I think he is running much, but those who are fixated on Trump don't care about anything Joe does.

I worked for Nixons war machine and like Trump he was caught lying and cheating the country. If you’re going to make blanket statements try to get it right. trump had the same option Nixon had to resign and take a plea bargain but he’s just a lot dumber than Nixon ever was. You’re on the wrong side of history when it comes to presidential bad guys but as I said, you’re free to vote for him and write him a fat check while you’re at it.

Yeah, some people need to understand that there's no way prosecutors are going to go after him unless they have enough evidence. The standard is going to be much higher than it is for normal folks simply because of the political implications. He wouldn't be getting indicted if this was a flimsy case.

That said, I'd be actually stunned if he ever spends a single, solitary minute in jail. I don't know how, but somehow it won't happen, because life is fucked.

That's my feeling as well.

John McCain conceded. Every presidential candidate up to TFG conceded. I think it was Lawrence O'Donnell who said at a time of a politician's most painful defeat they have to make the most important speech of their life. Concession.
Gore and Clinton won more votes. Gore's election was decided by a 5-4 Supreme Court decision. Clinton was cruising until Comey, against all precedent and all advice, announced an investigation into her email 11 days before the election that found nothing but caused a lot of voters to think both candidates were equally crooked and stay home. Both Gore and Clinton had good reason to squawk. They conceded. Gore as VP presided over the Congress certifying Bush II selection, with dignity.

And let's not forget The Orangcicle never won a popular vote ever. Especially with Hillary. He won the electrocal college by a fluke but she was actually the one who should've been president..

Trump has been indicted on 4 counts ..2 of them each hold a 20 year sentence..one a 5 year sentence and one a ten year sentence if proven guilty. He would most likely die in prison if convicted on all 4 counts if given the max penalties...the idiot should have copped a plea deal in 2020. His only hope would be a GOP administration that would give him a pardon if they held the presidency. That's 55 years of prison time if maxed out. Lock this fucker up and start the healing.

Something there?? What are we talking about here? He was saying our votes (GOP & Dems) don’t matter! He was proposing an end to Democracy! Some sort of fraud? He was trying to rip our Constitution in half and burn it. If he doesn’t get serious jail time for this, there is no justice.

What are the much more serious crimes? And are you saying two wrongs make a right?

These new MAGA breed of Republicans are completely gone. They are a lost cause.

It's like a religion. In that the people rely on no facts and only faith, so there's no amount of evidence to the contrary, no amount of facts, that will even make a dent. It's all a conspiracy, everything's a lie, I can't hear you, blah blah blah. You can't reason with them, it's a complete dead end. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything...

Let's start with the wars/bombings from prior regimes, that have resulted in the murder and enslavement of hundreds of thousands of people. Trump on the other hand is having the book thrown at him for keeping documents and arguing the election was fraudlent, both of which the Democrats have done.

Eric Trump expressed outrage "they" are locking up political opponents. Eric Trump led "lock him up" chants at campaign rallies. He being President Biden.

Stealing classified documents is a big freaking deal. When you take something you know you're not supposed to and lie about having it that's called stealing.

That is a worse betrayal of the position than any president I can think of.

January 6th puts it over the top. Benedict Arnold territory.

I hope he spends the rest of his life in prison. He won't, but I really want him to.

Aside from all of that he was a horrible president. Absolutely terrible. No redeemable qualities.

Wow, a Trump apologist as well as a Russia apologist...what a surprise.
