First Sheed, then ZBo, now Aldridge...

Lets just say that in your hypothetical situation that you aren't going to get him for as cheap as you think.

What kind of deal do you think he's going to get?

Keep in mind that he'll be competing with Josh Smith, David West, and Hickson for contracts, as well as Howard, Bynum, Al Jeff, and Pekovic.

Aldridge doesn't fit because of his age because he is the foundation of this team....... do you think Milsap would be the foundation of the team?

I don't think Aldridge will be the foundation of the team starting next year. Probably not even after the AS break.

Might be reason enough to trade him if another team thinks he will be for them.

I would take the over on 9.4 per year average for likely 4 years.

You don't think that the foundation will be, currently, Aldridge and Lillard? Isn't that the whole point behind noknobs post? That Aldridge and Lillard are the future and present of the team?

So who is your foundation? Lillard and MKG?

I think Aldridge is a better 3rd option than MKG is, personally.

Or Lillard and Batum with MKG as the third option.

So that's your big 3?
I can see why you'd want to trade the 2nd or 3rd best PF in the league for an unproven rookie who plays the same position as Batum. Your mad hoops knowledge seems to have no limits.

Could LMA handle being the 3rd option? I don't see it. I wouldn't do that deal proposed though.

Well when you're working inside out, he's our first option as a big. I think really it'd be Lillard, Aldridge, Batum in the pecking order.

Batum's scoring is up this year. Next year it could go up so more. So is LMA your 2nd leading scorer at least or not? You mentioned him as 3rd option to begin with not I. Because if he is 3rd option then I think you do trade him because someone out there values him more then that. I wouldn't just trade him for the sake of trading him though.

I mentioned him as a 3rd only in reference to Nate's post of Lillard/Batum/MKG, saying if that's your order LMA, is a better 3rd. I think he's your #2.

At least I didn't compare Aldridge to Shaq and Duncan :devilwink:

If you go with scoring efficiency, then LA should be a third option at best.

Lillard is the man. There is no doubt about that. Batum needs to be more consistent to be considered the number #2. LA would be a nice option for #3. And have Matthews there to help complete the saftey net for Lillard.

I'm just thinking in a generic sense of plays run for.

maybe if you tried reading instead of being a snarky asshole, you'd get it.:dunno:

When you bring up player combos (Shaq-Kobe & Duncan-Parker) then you are comparing more than age difference. You are symbolizing that particular franchise's best players with other combos such as (LA-Lillard).

When you imply that the age difference between Lillard and Aldridge isn't that big of a deal because there was a similar age difference between Shaq/Kobe and Parker/Duncan, then how exactly are you not comparing the players on that list?

Well hey, five years doesn't mean anything because Shaq and Kobe won a championship (three actually) and they were five years apart! And don't stop there, Parker and Duncan won championships and they had a huge age difference too! So obviously Lillard and Aldridge will win a championship because they have the same age difference!

My point is, a five year age difference doesn't matter when ONE OR MORE OF THE PLAYERS IS A FUCKING HOFER!

Holy shit.... someone gets it.

Repped.

Did anyone say obviously we'll win a championship because those did? No. They didn't. But do tell us when it's ok to open our window.
And also, you referenced Memphis as a model we should use. Draft, free agency and trades. Which is how we've built our current roster. They have big age disparity between their top players. Why would you consider that a good model?

I don't know that I do. I mentioned them as a small market that is winning without a big name free agent, which is what we'll have to do. We won't lure a big name here.

But hey, I wouldn't start talking about Memphis.... they dealt Pau for young prospects while he was in his prime. How did that work out for them?

Aldridge might be a HOFer

Currently he isn't. If he steps it up, then "might" could be considered possible.
