Nothing is stopping Chauncey from doing it now and bringing Simons off the bench if he wants to. Right now he could start
Dame, Hart, Winslow/Little, Grant, and Nurk.

Next year he could start Dame, Sharpe, Little, Grant, and Nurk
or
Dame, Hart, Sharpe, Grant, Nurk

I love Dame but he is getting older. He may or may not start getting more injuries. I don't know the future but I do like that Ant can step in and duplicate a lot of what Dame brings if Dame does get hurt. I love having depth, now we need to get some for the frontcourt.
Not interested in Little having big minutes. I’d rather go with Winslow or Walker.

No. I’m interested in trading Simons but for a bigger player (Simmons, for instance). I’m definitely not interested in trading Sharpe. I want to trade Simons so that Sharpe can start.

This!! Please this!!

Jarred Vanderbilt continues to be a guy that I want on this squad, even more so now than before. I would see how long we can survive without a backup C and if the asking price comes down. But if we have solid footing on a playoff spot, Vanderbilt makes a lot of sense.

Nurk/Vando/Watford

Solid C rotation.

What would Ainge want in return, hypothetically? He wants picks I am afraid.

Well I’d personally setting the largest offer at two 2nds and hoping they lower the asking price. Any more than that, we can look elsewhere. I’m not trading any more 1sts for role players. It would depend on how the Jazz keep playing as well.

a 6'9" (6'7" barefoot) 214 lb player is our answer for our backup center? We might as well use Winslow

Winslow is like 6’6 in shoes. He’s not a long term option at backup C. Vando would be replacing Eubanks. Outside of his energy and defense, Vando can also really rebound and push the ball a little bit. Imagine a lineup of Dame + Ant + Hart + Grant + Vando where any of them can rebound and push the ball up the court?

You can also fully rely on Vando to play 30mpg, so on days Nurk isn’t playing well, Vando + Watford can replace him and I wouldn’t really be worried. We really need a backup C, and for two 2nds, the asking price is pretty cheap for someone who can vastly change your team on the defensive end for 2 cheap years.

I agree that Winslow is not big enough. My point is that neither is Vando......at center

Ah I didn’t realize that was your point. Well Eubanks has done quite admirably through two games despite limited athletic ability. Vando is that much better than Eubanks imo and he’s not much smaller. I think you can survive with one 7 footer in today’s NBA, and we still have Sarr who I’m interested to see if he can be a long term backup big. There aren’t any C’s I would trade a 1st for, all the good ones are ones that teams don’t just get rid of. I don’t even think I’d give up a 1st for Nurk and Turner to switch teams.

to each their own, but i think vando would be a great small-ball 5 if he’s next to 3s and 4s like grant, nas, and winslow

That’s exactly what I was thinking as well. I think Ant + Sharpe + Little + Grant/Walker + Vando would really be able to run on most opposing benches. Nurk and Sarr would both benefit playing with Dame more in the PnR.

I just don't give up Hart right now? No way.
Hart to me is the GLUE guy on this team, his energy/hustle/defense/fast break running is and can be a key driver for this team. I know he is an expiring but he has the intangibles that make the whole team better, unless we are looking bad in January (look pretty decent so far and we can improve a lot) then he's a keeper IMO.

Id rather keep that spot/role open for Shaedon. And focus on bigs as targets. Eubanks/Winslow is a bit shaky rotationally longterm

We do need size. Almost desperately. Watford will help when he comes back. I’m not expecting much from Sarr.

todays nba I think shot makers supersede size

I’m not giving up anyone right now two games into the season. We still have until the deadline to see how everything fits and we’re currently judging them off two games. All we know is that we are set a PG/SG for a long time and Hart plays one of those positions. Literally just seven days ago almost everyone here was freaking out about this team not being good. Now Hart can’t be traded for anything. What’s changed?

Eventually, if any team is offering two 1sts for Hart or anything that is a complete overpay even for a high quality role player, you gotta let him go. The same people saying “I hope Cronin’s not married to Simons” are now married to Hart after two games…what are we even talking about right now?

Who’s going out for Ross to come in? The only contract that is around Ross’ is Hart. I could see the Magic making a deal for Hart if they were really surging up the EC, but why would we trade Hart for Ross if it wasn’t a gross overpay in our favor?

Love Hart but i dont think he lasts past the deadline. Doesnt make sense to invest too much in him when we have Shaedon and GP2 already
How much would it cost for you to think sending Hart out is worth it? Right now, it has to be quite a return to make anyone here happy right?

Josh, Justice and Jerami....
The "Three J's".....
Much better than "3 J & the other 2".....
Lose any of them, you lose your "edge"...
You lose your heart.
