Flying to Florida panhandle tomorrow. Spending cinco d mayo in New Orleans, got reservations at Emeril's there, show at Preservation Hall, checking out the cemeteries and French Quarter. 2 weeks to check out whatever is there or neighboring states. Any suggestions? Based near Destin but have car for day trips or overnighters to interesting places. Main interests are history, music, and meeting Real American locals. No Disney or modern tourist crap.

I you get a chance, check out Barbara Jarrell's solo act...not sure where she's playing but she's based in New Orleans...great soulful singer songwriter,,just checked and I think she's living in Shreveport

Emeril's is a bit overrated if its anything like his Las Vegas offerings. The BBQ shrimp is good though.

I'll pick my sister's brain and get back to you on places to visit. I haven't been here long enough to really know much. She works for Florida Fish and Wildlife and knows some pretty neat places.

Should be a good time to go. I would imagine the weather will be nice.

I was thinking Maris can come meet me and we can smoke some bath salts and eat some faces during a game. Blazers Playoff Party!

Heading down your way Monday or Tuesday. Was going to bring some weed but my buddy Damon Stoudemier said those TSA guys are super smart.

Toured my bro-in-law's farm and timberland today. About 2,000 acres of crops, cows, long leaf pine and pecan trees. Saw a guy with a real Southern mullet at the Winn Dixie! Sat in a rocker on the front porch with a beer while negotiating a land sale on my iphone using Docusign then had a splendid salmon dinner courtesy of my sis-in-law with a very good Ken Wright Pinot Noir from Oregon.

How much of all that did you shoot?

Shot most of it.

(Did not shoot the mullet guy as I deemed him to be no threat.)

I should get some good pics today as theprunetang is graciously taking time out to entertain us this afternoon at a beach.

So, just got back from the beach with maris and his wife. Great people. That was my first time meeting someone from a message board and it wasn't as weird as I thought it might be. It was actually really fun. And we didn't run into Florida Man. So that was nice too.

Who's next to come to Florida?

ThePrunetang cooked us a delicious meal, took us to a cool park on the beach and educated us about the local flora and fauna. Even knew about a couple of racoons that strangely enough live in the jetty rocks there! We both had an awesome and interesting day and met a genuinely nice person we would like to return the favor to sometime.

Thanks again and we found the socks when we got back.

Tomorrow is supposed to be very stormy so we are going to the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. Blazers play at 9:30 here and my hosts aren't up that late so will try to find a sports bar nearby which may not be possible. Wednesday we are going to NOLA for 2 days and nights of music, food and sightseeing.
