I returned to the forum today to express condolences about Halimon, Pip's son, (and now Riverman's brother.) This thread, however, snared me like quicksand.

1) If someone actually tried to get HCP fired over what he posts here, I sincerely hope they go die in a ditch.
1A) If Orion says it wasn't him, I would give him the benefit of the doubt.
2) Anybody who takes HCP's postings here as malicious are just being silly.
3) As for the specific post in question, I think HCP was wrong. If people can foam at the mouth, then they still care. The opposite of love isn't hate - it is indifference. That's me. I can no longer give a damn about this perpetually-wallowing-in-mediocrity franchise. Maybe some day they can win me back, but it grows less likely as time goes by.

If you have put alot of work into it, then its been a largely futile effort it seems, as hcp simply cannot stop talking about other people he has conflicts with and im not gonna stop calling him out for it.

If you don't leave HCP alone you will get increasing longer vacations from the forum. The same thing goes for HCP.

Sly you mention me stalking him but STILL completely dismiss how he stalked me for a year and stalked bones for another year. Pointedly making comments at us with no other purpose than to instigate drama, why do you refuse to address this head on?

I have addressed this. I've talked to you and HCP in private. I've tried to get you guys to try and patch things up at Meet and Greets. I haven't dismissed anything. Lot's of people in this forum post to instigate drama, including you and me.

And finally tried to justify why someone would write his employer. Come on, you've been all over the map on this.

I'm not sure what you wanted me to say. You were upset and your posts contained personal insults that I was editing out. If you can't acknowledge or remember what you had posted just minutes before there really isn't much of anything for me to say. Instead of continuing the argument or starting a new one I thought it was best to just leave you alone. I have done this in the past with you and it's worked very well.

I've said this many times publicly, privately, by phone, and in person. I like you. I think your a great guy and a huge Blazer fan!

This is why you have a ban hammer Sly.....in my view you either need to use it or lose more quality forum members ...having meetings and spending days dealing with it for free is completely unnecessary use of what is supposed to be an entertaining fan site .....coddling this ongoing problem is not solving it.....my 2 cents....I used to feel bad if I couldn't make a meet and greet...that's sure changed. With HCP and kj bailing....the writing is on the wall. To me it's become glaringly obvious what's gone down here and it keeps getting a pass. Has even hosted get-togethers in his home. He is a huge fan that loves the team. I'm going to try everything I can think of to try and end the problems instead of ending the person.

I admit I have completely failed. Failed so badly that now in a forum first, that makes me very nervous, instituting a rule that only applies to two people in the forum. That's very dangerous. That has the possibility of others demanding special rules that only apply to one or two people.

OB continually demands special rules that only apply to one person. The personal insult rule is fairly easy to understand, to explain, and to enforce. How do you come up with a rule that says no joking or teasing or whatever the complaint is if at the moment it happens someone else doesn't like it?

I firmly believe that when it comes to rules fewer is better for members and staff.

What is going on between HCP and OB isn't a breaking-the-rule problem. It's a both just need to realize that and leave each other alone problem.

I also don’t get the narrative that people get all worked up and take this place serious. And not just S2... pretty much any online forum. If someone is that worked up, it’s pretty easy to walk away (and you probably should).

Yup. Honestly, I think it's a cop out. It reminds me of how suddenly all the fans abandoned the team during the Telfair years because they "couldn't support the Jail Blazers anymore." Of course, it obviously had nothing to do with the fact that the team was shit and nobody had any issue supporting the Jail Blazers when they were contending with Pip and Sheed and Smitty.

The internet has been a toxic place since it was invented. It's not a new thing and there isn't a single place on the web where you're safe from people arguing and feuding. Doesn't matter what the subject is or the hobby. I think some of these guys just outgrew it. Or they lost interest in the team. Or they have other things eating up their time. It's just easy to say "well S2 is too toxic for me." When was it ever not toxic?

A couple things. First, I genuinely don’t like to ignore people, threads make less sense and many times the people who I would ignore for drama reasons, make interesting bball points. Secondly and more importantly, it’s never one poster in a vacuum. Other posters comment, the mods get pulled into it, and the flow of the board gravitates towards that drama. Thirdly, even when people are ignored enough of the spat comes through that I end up un-ignoring them just to catch up. Then I realize I’m smack dab in the middle of drama again.

I come here to relax and enjoy a topic I love. Not to try and filter out people and threads and topics. it’s easier to just stop coming or at least disassociate emotionally to the point that I stop participating.

Both OB & HCP are really good people and would help anyone here in the forum, if they were in distress.
Its best to be slow to speak and quick to listen and meditate about being on a beach in Hawaii under a palm with a bottle of rum and a nice looking women.
