Another shrimp on the barbie.

However, I think pineapple goes best with pork..
You are going to grill me? With bacon? Crap, can't even turn me into a kosher burger.Remind me to grill you one of my world famous teriyaki burgers (think: Bonzai Burger from Red Robin). I specially marinate the burger to perfection. Has a fresh pineapple slice; usually, a slice of Tillamook sharp cheese (or provolone), tomato, and lettuce. Other options include a slice of red or green pepper. I've even added bacon, although, it doesn't need it. I happen to love onion or potato buns.

Does anyone have any thoughts on good cookware? I've been wanting to upgrade to a real set. All Clad D5 and C4 looks nice for high end Calphalon is much cheaper but seems sufficient. Stainless steel, copper or carbon steel? We already have a good cast iron skillet and Dutch oven.

$299 on sale. Dunno if that's really "on sale" though.
That's my idea of a food party!
Give me a plain old ground beef. My wife has been getting 85% lean but ground sirloin 80% lean would be perfect. I use to llike all the condiments but now I can't handle it that thick so mine just has thousand island dressing and sweet onion. I useally have Walla Walla Sweets but the last few have had Sweet Vidalias and they were fabulous. My wife peels the onions down to the tender part. and the slices are whole. I eat a naturally fermented pickle on the side and sometimes a handful of potatato chips. All of this is washed down with an icy cold root beer that has small chunks of ice in it. Now stop it, you are making my mouth water.Remind me to grill you one of my world famous teriyaki burgers (think: Bonzai Burger from Red Robin). I specially marinate the burger to perfection. One of my favorite foods is a boiled artichoke with lots of mayonnaise and an ice cold soft drink. I use to have a cola but those are now off my diet due to their potassium level. so now it's my second favorte, a high quality root beer.I've missed artichoke season both times I've been to Rome. One of my life's goals is to visit Italy during the season
mayonnaise will put the choke in art.....I'll pass.....artichokes to me are best pickled in good vinegar....One of my favorite foods is a boiled artichoke with lots of mayonnaise and an ice cold soft drink. I remember when they built that one near George Rogers park. When it first opened they had teenage girls on roller skates delivering orders to the cars. They also had freezer chilled glass mugs with hard ice cream and A&W root beer. They had a baby burger, mama burger and daddy burger with yummy fries and onion rings. That was my favorite place to eat. I also liked the Pinafore and the Dairy Maid. Sometimes me and my buddy, Jerry, would drop by the Cove where his grandmother worked and she would give us a free order of fries. Man were they good. Sadly, my buddy, Jerry, taught me to eat fries with lots of ketchup and even more salt. Today it takes all of my will power to leave the ketchup and the salt alone on my fries. Jerry? Well, he is in the pink of health and was even the fleet boxing champion for his weight class when he was in the Navy. Jerry was always a great fighter. His father always taught that disagreements should be settled by putting on boxing gloves. Never my philosophy since I was the smallest boy in my class. Good thing for me that Jerry was my best friend.Yum! Man, speaking of root beer, I must have downed over 1,000 gallons of A&W root beer over the years from that little joint across the street from George Rogers Park. It's since been long torn down.

The Pinafore and the Dairy Maid were owned by the former mayor of Oswego who were also the parents of a former good friend of mine when I lived in a different neighborhood, the Needhams. That guy was a little greedy and never gave me anything for free and I never saw him give anything to his son for free. I was just 9 years old when I moved out of that neighborhood.
We ordered live lobsters a few months ago, got some New England clam chowder also. They next day ship and it worked out great. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't outrageous either. I need to lean how to cook lobster better and I could use some better crackers but it was fun and we would do it again. If you like that sort of thing I recommend it. There are few services but we used these guys.
