Abortion is the mother's right. As already said, no heartbeat = no life, and as a result, its not murder.
We eat carrots. I'm not exactly sure what your point is.Then what are we getting into with the definition of life?
A carrot doesn't have a heart beat, but it's a living organism.
You talk like women have sex only to get pregnant, which isn't true.
So, no she doesn't.
We eat carrots. I'm not exactly sure what your point is.
So you are okay with murdering babies (as you put it).
If you support 'exceptions', then you're okay with abortions. You just support killing babies for this reason and not for that reason.
They may not go in with the intent of getting pregnant, but they give their consent to getting pregnant when they have sex.
We would need to come with a long term plan to eliminate abortion completely, including in rape cases, by increasing adoption by reforming the system and making improvements in the technology of artificial wombs.

I am for abortion in all cases, even if the mother wants to bear the child.

I heard my daughter's heartbeat at 8 or 10 weeks and at 20 weeks was able to count her fingers and watch her move on the ultrasound. The fetus has a heartbeat and is very much alive.
I'm personally very much agianst abortion but I don't think it's the government's place to decide for everyone.
I was under the assumption the heart didn't start beating until the baby had been delivered, at which point it magically becomes a baby instead of a fetus.

A bowl of bread, a jar of tomato paste, a plate of cheese, and some basil are on a table. You can mix them together and still not have a pizza--just the potential for a pizza.
chutney said:We can quantify what we mean by life though. The moment of conception does signal the creation of a living thing; an organism. But that doesn't mean its a human life. It lacks the cognition, awareness, consciousness, etc. that are fundamental characteristics of human beings. Like speeds said, its more like life with the potential to become human life.

False.
No sir. No woman should have to bear a rape child.
I think they know, but I'm fairly sure that getting pregnant isn't their objective when having sex.So you think all, or most women don't know that you can get pregnant from sex?
So go through with the abortion in six weeks or less. That's plenty of time.I heard my daughter's heartbeat at 8 or 10 weeks and at 20 weeks was able to count her fingers and watch her move on the ultrasound. The fetus has a heartbeat and is very much alive.

A human can be cloned from a flake of my skin or a piece of my hair. He would be my duplicate, but still a human. Uniqueness is not required. A fertilized egg is just ingredients for a person.if they mix, it's a human

As I said. They may not going into sex with the intent of getting pregnant, but they give their consent to getting pregnant when they agree to have sex.
Not really. If people are using birth control methods they are not giving their consent to getting pregnant.
There is a difference between consent and an acceptable risk. When you get onto a plane you're not giving the pilot your consent to crash, but you are aware of the risks involved (hopefully!).Yes they are, because they know that there is the possibility that the birth control could fail, as stated on the packaging.
