<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chutney:</div><div class="quote_post">Once you've become baptized, you're required to have all 5. Until then, it doesn't matter as much. I'm currently unbaptized and I have 3 (uncut hair, the iron bracelet, and the small comb).</div>
Well the undergarment one isn't too hard, boxers don't count right? (or else I'm sure you would have said you follow 4 of 5) do they have to be longer? I'm guessing the kirpan can be more difficult, just because it is surprizing to see someone carrying it around although my Sikh friend always had it under his clothes, I rarely saw it and it was always sheathed.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chutney:</div><div class="quote_post">It's not an absolute requirement, like in Islam, but it definitely helps to provide a greater appreciation for the religion. I went when I was in Grade 1 and it looks like I might go this winter.</div>
The Golden temple is only gold plated right? If it was made entirely of gold, I would imagine it would be a target for theives, even though it is surrounded by water and only has one bridge to it, as well I'm sure many many Sikhs visit it daily.
Was it gold plated when it was finished construction by the 5th guru (I think it was the 5th)?
I think that will be enough questions for now
thanks again.
