Wow, I guess it shows kids are stupid.

Saw this early. Cray cray that people are only now finding out about this?

Article says the Blazers “made respectable runs at the NBA Finals during his tenure.” Say what? We didn’t even win a series.

Little more than stupid. Holy shit. Glad he turned his life around but what about that anonymous kid and his family?

I'm sure they got some free air jordans.

I know Larry well. A great guy, and absolute gentleman…..this is blowing my mind right now! I thought there was no statute of limitations.

The article says he was arrested and served time for the murder. As a juvenile offender, he probably got a much lighter sentence than he would have if he’d been an adult.

"So why tell this story now? Miller told Beck that revealing his past will free him to discuss his own experience with at-risk youth and people in prison with the hopes of steering them away from violence to have a productive life. Miller said he wanted to release the information to the public through his forthcoming book, “Jump: My Secret Journey From the Streets to the Boardroom,” on his terms and timeline. The book is scheduled for release in early 2022."

Ha! He shared the story now because it'll help build interest in his book. I doubt he can honestly say he would have broken it if not for the upcoming book.

Ahhhhhh. Didn't see the part about him serving time. He introduced me to Muhammad Ali and I will never forget that experience.

He’s a multi millionaire he could care less about the book. It’s probably because he’s old and said why not I don’t have much time on this earth

People write personal books for their ego (i.e., book sales and reviews), not to just get something off their chest. He would have offered up the story on the news if that's all he was after.

I feel bad for the mother and family of the boy that wasn’t allowed to become a productive member of society.

Did you miss the part about him being in a rival gang? Larry Miller definitely bucked the odds of escaping that life to become a productive member of society.

Me too. The only positive in the story is a third life wasn't ruin as well; which is how some people want these situations to turn out.

If that happened today the DA would declare him an adult and his life would be over.

This part?

Miller told Sports Illustrated that he shot the first person they saw. He said he didn’t know the victim, or if he even had anything to do with his friend’s death or affiliation with the gang.

Good point, I somehow skimmed over the last part of that line.

This story illustrates the fine line between success and failure. It's fair to say that a couple different decisions along the way for him and he winds up in a life of crime. Judging from the success he's had in the business sector, it's not hard to believe that attitude and motivation would have led to a "successful" gang life, too. I've met and gotten to know many, many gang members and the difference between a lot of them and a lot of business people might be a few decisions they made early in life.

This story is now the lead story on Drudge Report... it's not going away quietly

This reminds me a lot of Ben Carson's belt buckle story.

I have a confession to make. It was actually I who sank the Titanic. I am extremely remorseful and if you buy my book you will see how sorry I truly am!
