FOX News is Fair and Balanced

You need to separate news reporting from news analysis. CNN's guy on the right is Alex Castellanos, who makes Alan Colmes look agressive. Everyone else is either left or far left.

They also have Ed Rollins, William Bennett, Amy Holmes, Tara Wall, and they just added Mary Matalin.

Not to mention they have voices from both parties on Larry King Live when his show is doing a political topic.

They also frequently bring in Ari Fleisher to talk about political issues.

CNN is much more objective than left-leaning MSNBC or right-leaning FOX News.

haven't you figured out that the guy with the ugly wife and fat baby is always right because he posts often? he's the official mouthpiece of Obama (I don't know what that means, I just know it's important to hear something then repeat it to death on the internet to be the coolest... which reminds me: something something Obama socialism anti america something something teleprompter something something bailout. Look, I can win too).

Ya'll are acting like these channels are supposed to be impartial-- or even news. They are like the lottery, meant for ENTERTAINMENT purposes only.

Wow, I own you. I don't even try, and I completely own you.

P.S. Do you really believe those two to be my wife and child? If so, you're even dumber than your posts would indicate.

You just disqualified yourself from ever being taken seriously on this board.

Anyone who would attack a man's wife and baby (though in this case they are neither) is a pathetic human being who obviously has nothing left in his arsenal to fight with.

Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann. Now that's fair and balanced.

CNN's choice of guests biases their reporting. If there's a general who's against the action in Iraq, he got all the air time they could afford, and that sort of thing. I also remember during the presidential debates, CNN had a focus group and one of their anchors there interviewing the people. She asked, "how many of you think Obama won?" and about 1/3 raised their hands, "how many of you think Hillary won?" and 2/3 raised their hands. "There you have it, Obama easily won this debate," she said.

If every cable outlet is as left-biased as CNN and MSBNC, it's a good thing to have the opposing view represented. Just existing, makes Fox THE balance.

This is well said. Fox balances out all the left-wing bias, but overall they are NOT fair and balanced. And CNN is much more balanced, do you agree on that? I know they lean toward the left, but I mean I just posted a vid of Fox doing what you just said but instead of voting for one democrat over another democrat they did it for a republican vs a democrat (of course).

I tend to agree with the posters who talk about the actual news vs. editorial content. Fox's actual news, like covering a plane or train accident, is as good as any. Though I found the Fox actual News to be more upbeat and positive (during the Bush years) and the other networks making it seem everything is broken.

O'Reilly and Hannity are not news people. They are editorialists. Their job is to have an opinion and get ratings out of those opinions. A newsman's job is to report the facts without letting any of his personal opinions be part of the coverage.

CNN boosting a democrat over another democrat is rather arrogant, and trying to establish in peoples' minds that the democrat candidates are the only ones who matter.

I forgot to mention in my previous post the cross pollination between CNN and NPR and PBS. Judy Woodruff is the obvious example - she became an anchor at CNN after being on McNeil Lehrer at PBS for years. I also see a few of the MSNBC newspeople have moved over to CNN.

I think PBS has the most balanced political analysis shows. Even if the individuals making up the analysts have their biases (left-wing, certainly), they strike me as striving the best to be objective in their analysis. I'm sure they don't reach perfect objectivity, no one does, but shows like Washington Week In Review and News Hour With Jim Lehrer seem the closest thing to "fair and balanced" on the airwaves.

As far as FOX News goes, I'd also draw a distinction between their news reporting and their opinion-based shows. I don't find much redeeming about Hannity, Beck or O'Reilly, but I actually think Sheppard Smith is a pretty engaging anchor and not overtly biased in how he presents things.

Clinton owns Fox News! IDK why but I like Clinton.
