Many have mentioned the desire to upgrade from Wesley or Robin. I believe Free Agency is a huge gamble to go into for a small market team, but lets take a look at potential Free Agent signings to upgrade the 2 or 5.

Improving on Wesley: Available SG's.
Klay Thompson (RFA)
Monta Ellis (PO)
Aaron Afflolo (PO)
Jimmie Butler (RFA)
Eric Gordon (PO)
Iman Shumpert (RFA)
JR Smith (PO)
Manu Ginobili (UFA)
Rodney Stuckey (UFA)
Danny Green (UFA)

Gerald Henderson (PO)

The only guys on the list that interest me as actual upgrades are Thompson and Butler, both of whom are RFA. Afflalo is too similar to consider a legit upgrade, Manu is too old at 37 now... Will be 38 next summer. And none of the other guys are actual upgrades in my eyes.

Now if we look at centers
Marc Gasol (UFA)
Greg Monroe (UFA)

Brook Lopez (PO)
Roy Hibbert (PO)
Deandre Jordan (UFA)
Al Jefferson (PO)
Nikola Vecevic (RFA)
Omer Asik (UFA)
Enes Kanter (RFA)

Honestly only Gasol and Monroe are appealing as an upgrade to me. Gasol Clearly would make the team better. Monroe is a bit of a question as to if he is a C or a PF but age and so far shown development are nice. Brook is an offensive upgrade but sooo injury prone. Hibbert if he were to get back to not being mentally fragile would be a good upgrade too, but I am thinking Vin Baker about Hibbert right now.

ANother thing to consider with the new TV Deal kicking in for 2016-2017 I suspect most the PO guys will probably not go into free agency this summer banking on a significant boost in cap space for teams the following summer.

Well if all those SG are improvements then how is wes a top 10 SG?

If Matthews were to walk...
I'd be interested in adding Iman Shumpert (RFA) or Jimmie Butler (RFA) to the roster and either getting a shooter/scorer coming off the bench. I doubt any offer to Shumpert would be matched because the Knicks have Tim Hardaway JR who plays the same position and is a better offensive player than Shumpert. I doubt the Knicks would keep both with neither being able to play the 1... and no minutes to be had at the 3. Unless Melo moves to the 4 exclusively.
Butler is more of a long shot I doubt the bulls will let him slip away.

Gasol please. please? please..!

I like Shumpert as a defender but he is not a shooter by any means and he is injury prone.

Afflalo is a very good player. We should have found a way to snatch him away from Orlando. He would be a more than worthy replacement for Wes. I would throw the max to Klay Thompson. I know the max is a lot, but if you're going to snatch a player from their team, you have to overpay. Him and Damian in the background would be bananas. I like Marc Gasol a lot, though our rebounding would likely take a bit of a hit. Utah may finally decide to cut their losses with Kanter since he hasn't produced much since he's been drafted. Not saying he would be a starter, but off the bench he could be very good.

If CJ or Barton can step up to be the starting SG, i wouldn't mind bringing in a Manu to be the sixth man for a year. Throw the rest of the money at a Gasol or Hibbert if he goes back to normal.

I'd like to see Danny Green or Afflolo. Either one would fit this team perfect!
