Free agent backup PG

Which one would you prefer to sign for next season:

Personally I'm torn between Jack (history, leadership, finally he's playing well) and Shaun Livingston (would make a great three guard rotation with Lillard and Matthews - he's the size of a SG but has PG passing skills, and could pair up well with Lillard). Ultimately I say Livingston. I thought we should've signed him when the Rockets let him go (I REALLY thought that) and he's looked very good for Cleveland. Plus I think the Warriors won't let Jack go.

Maynor's been okay, but my enthusiasm for him is waning slightly, and playing him with Lillard is going to cost us defensively in the long run.

I like Jack, but he's really more of a scoring guard. I like what Maynor has brought to the table, and I think he'll command less than Jack.

Maynor will be a cheap asset for us. I think he will be a 3-4 million back up. That's great because we won't have to add jack's demand for bigger money.

I know he's not a jaw dropping pg; but he doesn't fear pressure and isn't afraid to take a shot. This is two things many guards have issues with being a back up.

I would feel A LOT better about Maynor if he was a good defender, and not so damn slight. (I know Livingston's skinny, but he's also 6'7" (!))

Also if he was a better shooter and didn't have such a mediocre assists-TO ratio.

He was better before the injury. I think we are forgetting that he just took his brace off a game before he came to Portland. Then think that he's only played in like 10 games in Portland. I think it's pretty impressive that he learned the plays so quickly. Shows me he has good bb iq.

I voted Jarrett Jack. He is not the same player he was in Portland. Much improved.

However, my vote was based on no consideration of salary.

Assuming Jarrett Jack gets a fairly big contract, I would rather have Maynor if he was available for a lower salary, which is likely. Maynor looks like a pretty decent fit for the team, and I would be happy if we could have him for a backup's salary.

It has been a long time since this team has had a good backup point guard, and I would like to have one next season - and beyond.

Calderon will probably be out of our price range, but he's the most skilled passer of that lot, and that's what we need out of our backup PG.

But I like Maynor as a nice alternative.

I like Jack, but I voted Maynor.

What I like about Jack is that I think he could backup both guard spots, giving us an interesting 3-guard rotation.

However, when Jack and Lillard are in the game together who runs the offense? I know Maynor works well with Lillard, I'm not sure about Jack.

Don't get pissy because you called Maynor "slight" and then promptly suggested a guy who is so thin that his knee broke in half.

I think Jack's a great fit but he will likely cost more then we are willing to pay for that position.

I think maynor will be the back up and we blow our load on a back up sg. In fact; we may keep hickson and maynor and offer mle for that backup sg/sf.

It could be we see Webster once again.

I like Maynor too. Lillard needs a good ball handler to help take the pressure of him. Jack is steady and a warrior, but unless his ball handling skills have greatly developed, I don't know if he can help keep the pressure off Lillard the way Maynor can.
