He went down during a rebound. I thought this deserved it's own thread to spread the news.

It didn't look too bad until he said "It's not good..."

Well shit now we really do need a backup c I like Leonard as a project but he's no where near ready.

His knee was slightly bent so the impact wasn't as bad as it could've been IMO.

I'd guess this is a meniscus tear.

Get well soon British Bulldog!

Sucks for Joel but maybe Meyers finally gets his shot at helping this team.

I saw both Leonard and Robinson playing solid in the second half. I'm guessing Robinson gets first shot, based on potential, but Meyers actually grabbed some boards in traffic tonight with authority.

Oh boy. Well, a trade will be in the works now. As 8 weeks puts us in April. Hmmm...

This sucks for Freeland. The guy truly worked his ass off and showed tremendous improvement. Wish him a speedy recovery!

Yeah that sucks for this year, but at least no surgery is needed. He will be able to totally recover and recover a lot quicker.

I thought TRob and Myle played well, but the real loss is how steady Freeland has been this year. The guy is just solid. He's not a star, but he can knock down a shot, he plays good defense, and he sets a decent pick. Robinson and Leonard are both so inexperienced. They're both capable of making a big play, and I personally love Robinson's effort, but we're going to miss Freeland. We could count on him to play solid minutes behind Rolo.

Boy this sucks! We really need some help at backup center! It's going to tough to keep teams out of the paint when RoLo isn't in the game.

Trail Blazers PR ‏@TrailBlazersPR MRI confirms Portland F/C Joel Freeland (right knee) suffered an MCL sprain. He's expected to be sidelined 4-8 weeks.

Wow no tear. Very lucky.

I can't think of any 2-6mil big guys that play D that might be available. Bass is the only one that comes to mind, but he doesn't really play D. Varejao would be nice but with his salary, we would need to give up too much to get him.

Maybe we can go after Chris Johnson again... is he in the D league? We do have a roster spot open I believe.

actually an MCL sprain is a tear, just depends how bad, which is termed a grade 1 or 2 or 3

4weeks, he would still play 18 games of regular season, 8 weeks, he would only play 4 games of regular season

I think we need to put something together with Philly. If we could add Turner and Hawes, it would give us the shot in the arm that we desperately need. I would cash in our young guys to get them. It's a risk because they're both free agents, but we need to do something. Turner might even supplant someone like Matthews in the starting lineup. Either way, we need depth badly. Greg Anthony wouldn't shut up about it last night.

I was thinking yesterday, our bench isn't THAT bad. You look at OKC's best bench players, and we compare pretty well.

Jackson vs Mo
Lamb vs CJ
Collison vs Joel/TRob
Adams vs Leonard

Perry Jones vs Barton/Crabbe/Claver

etc.

The biggest discrepancy is probably the Collison vs our bigs matchup. And I'd obviously take Adams over Meyers, but the difference isn't too big. Hawes would be an awesome addition.

Jackson and Lamb are significantly better than Mo/CJ.

Please God no, not Chris Johnson.

That guy is not an NBA quality player. He's been working out at Club Sport recently with a 6'2" kid who I went to school with who wasn't even D1 college level.
