One more awesome move like this and we are in damn good shape
Why did the Hornets move 19-year-old Noah Vonleh after just one injury-plagued season? Because they tried to move former fourth overall pick Cody Zeller but found no takers. The Hornets were looking to lighten their frontcourt with the addition of Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky and found Vonleh, a Haverhill native, carried more value than Zeller. Vonleh has been impressive for the Trail Blazers in summer league, making the deal even more curious for the Hornets.
Zeller was an absolute waste of a pick. No idea why he was even picked so high.No takers for Zeller so trade the more talented Vonleh. Okay, thank you.![]()
Bam!
You could just about channel RoLo and call him NoVo....
I think Von will challenge Myers for the starting pf. The reason is I am not sold on Myers yet. Yes he has improve his game but Von is little more skill then Myers.
I actually think he could be more valuable than MeyersI don't believe the Blazers acquired Vonleh so that they could trade him later on. This guy is the future Blazers PF.
I like Meyers but I'm gonna say that's a fact.I actually think he could be more valuable than Meyers
Anyone that wears black & red for a season is more valuable than any newbie, No matter who it is!I actually think he could be more valuable than Meyers
This post is fucking idiotic. Your effort of sarcasm was so misplacedAnyone that wears black & red for a season is more valuable than any newbie, No matter who it is!
I think Meyers has a higher ceiling, but Vonleh is more likely to hit his ceiling than Meyers is.
Per 36min, Meyers hit 14pts and 15reb last year. Meyers ceiling seems to be a decent rim protector who could average 18-20 pts and 13 rebounds with somewhat of a Dirk game. But, I think it will be hard for him to hit that. I can see Vonleh averaging 15-20 pts and 11 reb and holding there pretty easily.
When he starts playing/starting entire games & when he's actually on ppl's radar/scouting reports + fatigue, the #'s change) max; I'd b over the moon if he gets here
Vonleh has higher scoring ability/instincts in the post (this includes getting to the line) & of course can also stretch the floor (I think over both of their careers Meyers will shoot the 3 better bc he's already proven that he can knock that down quite well) well. Vonleh's ceiling is 20pts/game & I think he'll definitely get to averaging 18pts/game. He's a very good rebounder too; I like Meyers as a rebounder BUT I believe Vonleh will b better. I think Vonleh will easily average 10rebs/game eventually & his ceiling would b 11rebs/game.
I think Meyers is fully capable of getting 10+ boards. I think his drop off will be in scoring. He was very efficient because he was the 4th or 5th player on the floor other teams worried about. If he is getting 2nd or 3rd option attention, I believe it will be much harder for him to score, unless he develops a post game.U & I r not too far off on what u r saying here. I think Meyers ceiling is 18 & 10 (I'd b VERY surprised if he averages this many boards; reality will b more like 16pts/game w/ 8 rebs/game; which is very good & I'd b happy w/ thisWhen he starts playing/starting entire games & when he's actually on ppl's radar/scouting reports + fatigue, the #'s change) max; I'd b over the moon if he gets here

So w/ all ^ being said, obviously this coming season, Meyers will currently put up far superior actual #'s v. Vonleh but eventually... if we still have both these guys, our team will b lookin' nice @ these positions!![]()

The upside is Meyers assists will probably go way up. He's one of the best passers on the team..rare for a big man. I think our passing game will be much improved over the last few seasons.I think Meyers is fully capable of getting 10+ boards. I think his drop off will be in scoring. Yup - he's a great passer. One of the things I most like about him is his ability to make the outlet pass. He hasn't done it much, because we've rarely ran as a team. But on a few occasions he's snared a rebound in traffic, immediately turned up-court and rifled off an accurate outlet pass. That's SO valuable. Terry had better make use of this. The upside is Meyers assists will probably go way up. He's one of the best passers on the team..rare for a big man. If I were king/coach, I would be tempted to put Meyers in the high post and run a lot through him. Set picks and roll for the dunk; high post passing to cutters Henderson and Aminu (and almost everyone else on the team); and hit the open jumper if they leave him. He isn't a great offensive rebounder (better on the defensive boards) so you don't lose much by keeping him in the high post.
