GREAT!! Another game Yankee fans won't be able to stay awake for since it won't be over until WAY after 1AM.

RHP - Nathan Eovaldi (6-5, 5.19 ERA)

VS.

RHP - Colin Rea (4-3, 5.05 ERA)

Lineups to follow................

Oh come on Rick, suck it up and take a nap. :rotfl:

Sorry Lil, young pups like me:blazerwookie: don't take naps.

Beating the Padres should be like taking candy from a baby. There's that should word again.

They are at .500. The stress test to get over the hump.........easy? or hard?
A year long task.

Yanks "need" a sweep vs this Padres team.
Not going to bet on it especially @ an N.L park without the DH and the way Eovaldi has been pitching - Yanks' offense is weak WITH a DH but it's time to step up.....here and now.

10 game road trip- Yanks need to go 7-3 but I won't call them all kinds of childish names before jumping off the ledge if they go 6-4.
But if this team really wants to make some kind of statement and begin to move forward then they must go 7-3 on this trip.

8-2? 9-1? Lol, not a chance, even if I put on my rose colored pinstriped homerific glasses.

Eovaldi is terrible, and he should be dumped right on Cashman's head.
His second season as a Yankee and he has made zero progress as a SP.
Right now it looks like he may have actually gone backwards.

How long is Joe the Genius going to keep Gregorius buried down in the lineup? Is he really worried about putting too much "pressure" on him?
He hasn't missed a beat stepping in after a legend in the big city.
Maybe JTG doesn't want to upset a veteran very mediocre player? lol

I've got news for Joe The Genius, Didi may ALREADY be a better hitter than Gardner
Put the kid in the two-whole and let him thrive..or at least allow him the chance.

Joe the Genius!

Giving up a bomb to a .133 hitter, Eovaldi you're a piece of freeze dried shit.

This team just flat out sucks. I am not wasting my time watching these Idiots to the wee hours of the morning.

And.....sorry but, Ellsbury & Gardner just ain't getting it done.
Occasionally they get hot for short periods (just like every player) but they always revert back to extended dry spells where they seem to vanish.

Yup, that's the problem rooting for a .500 team- too many times they look like sh!t and lose to other sh!t teams.
Annoying.

...lol...they're just not a very good team, period. (hope that's not being too "childish")

Getting over the hump is just too much to ask from a very mediocre team.
Trials and tribulations of these New York Yankees. To lose to another mediocre team
tells us all we need to know. Our Yankees have a long way to go to recapture those
Championship years!

Just like most .500 clubs there's just no consistency. That's especially true for the pitchers who tease but then fall back into their mediocre form. Eovaldi just seems like that will be the forever trend.

...^^^ should have kept Prado and Phelps.

...Among other things, Prado, whose contract expires would have meant no Headley for another 2 1/2 year...Phelps is doing quite well with Miami too. and the Yanx sure could use him now.

...Garrett Jones was a bust and Eovaldi isn't looking good either while Domingo German blew out his elbow and is just now returning from TJ surgery. (got bombed in his first start last Sunday for Charleston)

... It was a bad trade, period.

Yep keeping Prado and Phelps would have solved many problems. I think the Yankees gave up on Solarte too soon. Young kid great attitude, came on like gangbusters and cooled of. Happens, should have given the opportunity to make the adjustment. Took out a nice ad thanking the Yankeees and fans for the opportunity. But no the choice was Headley who flubbed the dub in front of his former team by making the final out of the first with the bases jammed. And the "Brass" is wondering why the fans are pissed.

...^^^lol...what about chastising the people who pointed that out last year and again this year before the season even started?

...yup, Solarte as well as Nunez and Cervelli.

...Cashman rules !!!

Posted this awhile back but the Yankees might have made out better keeping Cervelli with Romine or Murphy as back up. I liked Cervelli, great attitude, hustled, but again the Yankees had to have Martin whom I did not care for at all. When they brought in McCann that left Cervelli as back up so I was glad he got to play in Pittsburgh. I like how McCann has handled the staff but his bat gets flaky at times. Like it when he dumps those opposite field hits. Nunez was good with the bat but had an iron glove, but then again difficult to crack that infield of the Chemist and Jeter. Probably could have gotten more had they traded Nunez and especially Hughes. Yep old Cashie is a real Gem.

Funny guy. Lyin' Ted and Hillary have nothing on you.
Yep, I gladly "chastized" your pal last year for calling a team with the 4th best record in the league "pathetic".

Now put an egg in yer shoe and beat it.

...you've totally lost it...not that you ever had it. Who said anything about being "pathetic"?

...evidently in your alternate universe, saying that a team is "not very good" is tantamount to saying they are "pathetic"?...exactly how does that work?

...were you born obtuse, or is it an acquired trait?...it's simple, stay on topic and keep things in their proper context or don't reply.

_____________

Don't give me any of your bullshit about losing it, or alternate universe.
Last year I took issue with one of your pals for saying the Yanks were "pathetic" .....that was HIS word, not mine.

I never said last year's team was very good......
And I noticed you couldn't resist beating your chest about the Eovaldi trade being a bad trade....
But once again you played your lame little game of twisting words around...or maybe you simply aren't able to accurately read my words or understand anything which doesn't fit your preferred narrative...
Lmao, funny guy...you actually believe you're sitting in the big chair with some kind of superior knowledge....lmao

At the time of the Eovaldi trade, I said I understood Cashman's line of thinking. He did trade away a "fine player" (my description) in Prado along with Phelps for the package of Eovaldi, Jones and German.
YOU were the one who made Jones out to be more than he was....
...yes Cashman was looking for LH pop off the bench who can play 1b and RF in Jones, but the centerpiece was Eovaldi a young very hard thrower who they believed could turn the corner and develop into an effective SP for years to come. He hasn't and is still the same pitcher he's always been.
It was a gamble as are many trades....but nobody ever said at the time it was a GOOD trade including me, so stop the bullshit.
And Domingo German was also included which became a bone of contention for you. You thought he was just a throw-in of little consequence but at the time he was a 21 year old SP with a 2.33 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in five minor league seasons. I also understood why Cashman would want him as part of the deal. Maybe YOU think it was stupid or irresponsible trying to get both Eovaldi and German....and it hasn't worked out.
Bad trade.

...and there you have it, folks...I rest my case.

...as far as you accusing ME of "making Jones out to be more than he was", don't take this the wrong way, but, you're a fucking liar.

...Find one post of me pimping Jones and I'll never post again. And if you're denying that you were not justifying the trade and defending Cashman (as usual) and telling us how "GOOD" German, Jones, and Eovaldi could be, well, again, you're a fucking liar.
