From what I've read, these guys represent the extreme poles of opinion on whether the Blazers should do a trade before the deadline. Where do you stand in the spectrum?

Oops, didn't hit the poll checkbox on the first post.

I voted for myself. As of right now I'm in the lead!

D'oh!!! I got all excited - I thought this was a vote on who to ban!

I'm going to win this, and there's nothing that anyone can do about it!

Ed O.

As an outsider,I'd trade Raef, only if you get a impact player for the next few years, cause he does expire this year and that is a lot of room. I'd still trade Raef.

Of course we only want a quality trade with Raef's contract though. KP is savvy enough that we don't have to worry about him making a trade for Jerome James if that's the only deal on the table.

My point is that this trade deadline is probably going to better than this summer for deals since it's a perfect storm of a bad economy for some teams plus the lack of cap space with Miles back on the books.

awwww someone voted for me. i refuse to vote for myself

I voted Craig Ehlo, but really I'm more in the Craig Mixum category.

RLEC is too valuable too waste, but regardless the team should upgrade.....But not trade just to trade.

My vote can be bought! Holler!

Ed O.! Ed O.! Ed O.! Ed O.! Ed O.! Ed O.! Ed O.! Ed O.! Ed O.! Ed O.! Ed O.!

Hey, I've been saying "Make good trades, avoid bad trades" for years, since it's always true. Now Ed O creatively edits a Canzano piece and steals all the credit for that bit of sense?

Just ain't fair. I'm gonna vote for MIXUM in protest.

I voted for Maris, though I'm really somewhere between Ed O and Maris. It would have to be a RIDICULOUS trade before I'd want to see it done.

Many people seem to think the ONLY way we can use Raef's contract is to trade it now. Well, in the offseason, we'll have cap space and we can make a trade to consolidate talent by absorbing a larger contract than we send out. That seems more likely than us trading RLEC for somebody like Luol Deng, in my opinion. (at least now...but maybe a player like that becomes available in the offseason?)

I sense voting irregularity! I want an congressional investigation! :ohno:

I voted for Bake It but I show up as voting for Ed!!!! (Ok, not really, I DID vote for Ed).

Gramps...

I voted Craigehlo with a little bit of Ed O topping (no homo, lol)

Does anyone else find it funny that the only person (so far) who voted "Bake it!" is Cake?

If you guys didnt have Raef's contract I would say bake it too. The team is young and everyone is still building an identity on the team. Raef's contract is just too juicy to go to waste. Even if its for a player that expires next year you gotta move Raef.

I would be 100% shocked if he was traded for something

If I had any faith in the FA market, I would vote Ed O. Since I don't, I went with CraigEhlo.

Although of course I voted Bake it!, I would approve any constructive use of the 3 guys not playing and Raef that does not interfere with team chemistry.

Some 1st round picks of weak teams 4-5 years down the line would be very nice.

BTW..I think the Ed O choice is bullshit. Who doesnt want a good trade?!?...duh :devilwink:

I think an interesting question is: What if there is a team that wants to make a trade with POR that DOES NOT include Raef. Should that kind of trade be considered? Roy is the only untouchable in that situation IMO. Does a trade have to include Raef for you to consider it?

IMO it has to include Raef to make the trade worthwhile for POR. It will makes KP's decisions easier since he will have a greater body of work to look at. Outlaw would be my choice (sofar) for an attractive player(as in not trash) to pair with Raef in a trade when that time comes....if its a huge trade

Shh... of course my position is the most reasonable. It's me you're talking about.

The people who vote for closer-to-MIXUM, though aren't rejecting good trades by not voting for me. They might just be willing to take more risks or getting something closer to equal production in the interests of rolling the dice or of shaking things up.

Ed O.
