The shooter "barricaded" himself by locking the classroom door.

The police were able to "unbarricade" the door by getting keys from a janitor.

And they don't have specific tools to open locked doors? I can't imagine the door was built like Fort Knox. It is a small school in a rural area. You know that shit is cheap.

Somehow well regulated is always ignored, and the shall not be infringed is shouted loudly.
Well regulated has been addressed. In the 18th century it meant capable, or well functioning.

"Texas embraces and teaches the active shooter doctrine. That you find and stop an active shooter. But it was decided that this was a barricaded subject and not an active shooter."

We could give every school in the country $1 million to fix these kinds of problems over the next year for less than $200 billion. It would be great for the economy.

Disgusting. Every one of those police who didn't act, and anybody who decided the best course of action was not to act need to spend time in jail and lose the ability to every be police again.

Press conference right now...

The officers on the scene decided this was not an active shooting but instead a barricaded suspect. If they had thought this was an active shooting they would have made entry.

From the FBI's website:

"An active shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a populated area, and recent active shooter incidents have underscored the need for a coordinated response by law enforcement and others to save lives. "

Seems pretty straight forward. Did they think he was just testing how loud his gun sounded?

Before the shooter made entry into the school he walked outside of the school and fired into classrooms through the windows.

We couldn't even get everyone to vote on whether to fund baby formula for like 30 million dollars. 200 billion is quite the ask.

The timeline given and the 9-11 timeline don't match as given in this conference.

So would preventing anybody who has history of domestic violence or history of abusing animals from legally accessing firearms.

And making sure there is only 1 entry point for schools, which is only unlocked to allow people inside when the office approves it (meaning all doors to outside are always locked from the outside).

That would eliminate school shootings like this almost entirely.

Of course you'll still have illicit activity on school grounds after hours, which is where the vast majority of "school shootings" happen. But we're going to have to get serious about our social policies.

So let's place multiple solutions in order to stop this.

Police felt that some of the shots were an enticement by the shooter to get the police to commit suicide by cop.

SO?!? He's shooting up a fucking school. Who cares if he wants to die, he deserves to die.

Grant his fucking wish. Isn't that what happened anyway?

I know. That's why we need to focus our efforts on the most effective policies. You might have to call it "Security For Schools" or something so they have to go on record as votong against security for schools... But then you'd have to convince the Turtle to actually allow a vote.

If we removed 1 gun per minute, every day, all day, it would take us 600 years to remove guns from the equation here in the US. This is not a logistically feasible option.

We will never get universal background checks in this country. Too many states will fight it, and then they will just refuse to enforce it...

So let's place multiple solutions in order to stop this.
I'm not sure there is political will for multiple solutions. In fact, I think there is not.

I'm advocating for us to push for the most quickly effective and feasible solutions possible.

Someone should tell mom to shut the fuck up.

Mother of Texas school shooter tearfully begs people not to judge her son and says she 'wants the innocent children who died to forgive her': 'I know he had his reasons for doing what he did'
  • Robb Elementary School shooter Salvador Ramos' mother, Adriana Reyes, said that her son 'had his reasons' for shooting 21 people dead
  • 'He had his reasons for doing what he did and please don't judge him', she said
  • 'I only want the innocent children who died to forgive me. Forgive me, forgive my son'
  • Reyes said that she had a good relationship with her son and that he didn't have many friends

So, in the new timeline the suspect was killed sooner, but the 911 phone call timeline shows he was killed later. Fuzzy math.

Well, in 18th century parlance arms was a musket, not an AR15.

Can't have all sides of the bread buttered and not dirty your hands...
They didn't say musket, they said militia and wanted it effective. Militia is the civilian equivalent to infantry.

Thereby, civilians are encouraged to own and train with weapons equivalent to the average infantry soldier...

As well, apparently he got in the school because a door was propped open by a teacher? Not good.

'Clearly it was the wrong decision': Top Texas cop breaks down in tears as he reveals 19 officers stood outside classroom where gunman trapped victims doing NOTHING because Uvalde police chief thought everyone was dead despite ongoing 911 calls
  • Texas DPT Lt Chris Olivarez claimed said on Thursday night cops hung back after Salvador Ramos opened fire because they didn't want to get shot themselves
  • He then appeared to suggest it was a tactical decision by the police to trap the gunman in the classroom where he slaughtered 19 kids and two teachers
  • Cops previously said the gunman barricaded himself in the room and anonymous law enforcement sources said they couldn't get in without a key
  • It left the gunman alone with the group of kids and teachers for an hour and meant some kids bled out from their injuries
  • School resource officers and police experts say it was a 'disgusting' decision that should never have been made
  • Doctors say the leading cause of death in gunshot wound victims is bleeding out which happens in 5 minutes
  • At least two of the 19 kids who died on Tuesday died on their way to the hospital for treatment an hour after being shot

Leads me to believe maybe there was no A/C in the school? Fresh air is nice, but you just can't have that...

Or there was an awards assembly for students and parents that morning and parents were entering and leaving the school.

The bigger question is why was the armed school officer not at the school?
