Absolutely horrible.
Killed his grandmother then a bunch of kids. With a gun that is illegal for him to buy anywhere in the country, and illegal for him to carry in Texas without a license (which only a very small percentage of 18 year olds in Texas have).

I wish we'd get serious about what the real problems are...
Hello, I Completely agree.
Things like the following:

Quality parenting and tools parents need to be quality parents.

Restructuring of this ridiculous corporate two party system.

Campaign finance reform

more understanding of others’ opinions.

more understanding that having an opinion doesn't make one an expert.

Ridding society of most of social media and get back to face to face relations.

i mean, to me thats a start anyhow. More of the above would equate to less hatred and killings in my opinion.
But i am no expert in Social order.

Absolutely. Campaign Finance reform almost certainly has to happen before anything really productive has a chance...

And at the same time, almost certainly the hardest to make happen because of corporate and individual greed.
But yes, i probably should have listed that first because without that, we wont be able to change much else.

Certainly. It's so hard to change that I sometimes forget to name it as the main problem when discussing other issues. But every problem we're facing as a country today exists or has been exacerbated by money in politics.

Is this the thread where we send out our thoughts and prayers and then go back to our normally scheduled programming. 5 posts about it…..doesn’t even register anymore.

Hello. It is truly sad the desensitizing that is overcoming most all of us humans.
At the same time, I've always been told the dead would prefer us to keep on keepin on. Not join then as a living mourning corpse.
It is tough but my opinion of mourning the dead is to become as positively productive to help become a better society, as possible.

No other option until we want to get serious about fixing the real problems with society. It's unfortunate, but that's the world we live in.

Copy and paste this in 2 weeks when it happens again.

I consider the infatuation and easy access to guns a “real problem”. Nobody compares with the US and it’s guns. Nobody. Denying that is just foolishness.

And I consider the fact that everybody can't just matrix themselves out of the path of bullets a real problem. That's about as likely to be solved as your easy access to guns problem.

The infatuation part is the only part that can logically be addressed here in the US.

Other countries do have higher violent crime and murder rates than the US... even with guns being severely restricted. The number of guns doesn't correlate with violence and murder. But that is beside the point, because the 2nd amendment isn't going to be restricted for at least decades in this country. And even if that happened, it would take many decades to limit the number of guns enough that criminals couldn't get them... we're talking a 75-100 years in the future, optimistically.

There are rumors on twitter that the shooter was transgender. Not true but this is being used to demonize transgender people.

Cruz, Abbott and Trump all scheduled to speak at NRA convention in Houston next week. Guns are not allowed in the room.
They are all so pro life.

There are rumors on twitter that the shooter was transgender. If true there are going to be a ton of laws against transgender people. They will be demonized.

Killed his grandma before going on this rampage.

Nearly 30 killed this month — mostly people of color.

Or as Republicans call it: a damn good and productive month.

:bored:

Nobody should own an Ar-15. I’m sorry but you can’t tell me nothing

rip to the sweet innocent children and teachers
An AR15 is an underpowered hunting rifle... It's less lethal than most hunting rifles sold over the last 50 years.

You're not making much sense.
