I guess I should get a gun now. I’m very clumsy. I will probably accidentally shoot someone with it, or someone will probably shoot me with my own gun. But I guess if everyone is going to have one, I need one too??? Why do I have to take a test to show I know how to drive a car or have insurance to protect people injured by my car, but I can open carry a gun even though I have no fucking clue how to safely use one and if my gun injures someone, they are on their own because I don’t have to buy insurance?
You can only open carry a loaded gun without a license in certain states.

Those states don't tend to have problems with violence.

You don't need to take a test or have a license to own a car in this country. Only to operate it on public roads.

It is illegal to operate a gun in public, except in emergencies or if you have a hunting license outside of city limits.

Cool. I just have a hard time figuring out when gun nuts want to compare cars to guns and when they don’t. The answer is when it suits their narrative. Try to register a car without insurance and see how it goes.

What are you referring to? I honestly have no clue. Are you having a conversation? Or just throwing out political talking points?

There is no comparison because we have no constitutional right to drive. It's that simple.

We have the right to bear arms codified in the founding documents of our country.

in the actual founding document of our country, it says nothing about that right to bear arms. That was added 2 years after the constitution was ratified. It was added in 1791. Or about a generation or two before the first bullet was invented. Also added when the entire US had a population about the size of Los Angeles

8-year-old Florida boy accidentally shoots and kills baby

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — An 8-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed a 1-year-old girl and injured a 2-year-old girl at a Florida motel on Sunday, authorities said.

The boy’s father left the gun holstered in his Pensacola motel room closet. After he left the room, his son found it and fired a round that passed through and killed the baby and struck the toddler, said Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons during a news conference Monday. The children who were shot belonged to the girlfriend of the father.

The toddler is expected to recover, Simmons said.

The boy’s father returned to the room, took the gun and what investigators believe were drugs and left the room again, Simmons said. He is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of culpable negligence by storing a firearm within easy of a minor resulting in injuries, tampering with evidence and failure to store a firearm in a required manner.

He was arrested and later released on $41,000 bond.
