During the 2024 campaign, Kamala Harris said Trump would put troops on the streets of US cities that would target Americans. Because he said he would. Outrage machine exploded. Much of the "responsible" media demanded she retract and apologize.
 
I get the sense that the Trump admin vastly overestimated how influential terminally online right wing edgelords are in real life. Trump voters who have to exist in polite society wanted professionals deporting people quietly.

Vance pushing the George Soros paid agitator narrative in his "debate me bro" millenial prick cadence is career suicide.

Unfortunately (fortunately?) the people who would do that are mostly on the other side. Most left wing gun owners are pretty mild and wouldn't go hunting for trouble.

They'll wait until trouble is knocking at their door to make a decision.
 
They effectively turned antifa into a boogie man terror organization when all they were protesting was authoritarian fascism and a police state....now any citizen of a blue state can be shot on site as a terrorist even when unarmed. It's stupefying. When your president isn't held accountable for multiple crimes, this is the sort of leadership you get saddled with.

I saw an African guy doing standup (on Instagram?) where he said he liked the Trump administration because the rampant corruption reminded him of home. (This was humor, but "it's funny cuz it's true")

Disagree. The overtly irresponsible and visible ones are ICE. They are the loud and obnoxious minority.

Most of us aren't that way.

The first thing that struck me when both Noem and Vance declared that the murderer had been dragged or hit by vehicles twice in the past few months is that that guy is a complete idiot with serious learning disabilities. He obviously did not know proper procedure (or common sense) in the first incident, and obviously didn't learn a fucking thing from it, leading to yet a second (AND third) incident. As a long time supervisor, had my subordinates been that chronically stupid, they would have been fired. And I would have been disciplined (at the very least) for not doing a better job of managing and training those subordinates. But then, I wasn't in law enforcement, and it is a proven fact that LEOs are held to a much looser standard (assuming they are held to any standards at all). Noem should be held responsible for poorly trained and supervised employees, instead of blaming everything and everyone else.
 
Doesn't sounds like they are releasing much information yet on the Portland shooting besides that it happened. Portland Police Chief has acknowledged it and asked for patience as they try to learn more.

It's a shame there isn't video. If I ever see ICE in my neighborhood I'm going to be rolling film ASAP. This secret police should be under constant private citizen surveillance.

Just heard both in hospital but no details on condition. ICE claims driver was member of Venezuelan gang which I guess means he is brown skinned and speaks Spanish.

Why is the US Border Patrol going after shooting suspects? That is something for PPD, or at the very least a joint operation.
