Afghani man fought with US forces, attaining rank of captain. When Taliban returned to power he was on death list. He and his wife granted asylum in the US and settled in Hayward not far from where I live. His wife's two sisters and parents are legal permanent residents living in same place.
They have been ordered deported.
Fortunately they have some means and were offered asylum in Britain.
