Let's look at what he said.

Both sides voted on the act: true
the ACA is the law of the land: true
Obama is not a dictator: true (if he was, we wouldn't be having a government shut down)
He (and the majority of the left) wanted free UHC: true
He compromised (with the R's) on what most of the left wanted: true

So I'm guessing the color of the sky on KS's world is the same as it is in yours, mine and everyone elses.

People think I'm being an a-hole for my position on this issue, but someone has to say it. When did we decide as a country that we were entitled to other people's money, when we can make due on our own? I have no problem helping those truly in need. I don't trumpet it, but there are ways I help the less fortunate at financial levels that would shock those that envision me as Monty Burns. However, when people sit on their ass and don't even try to make a better life for themselves, that's when I lose compassion.

Keep supporting him. In the end, he will be considered one of the worst presidents to ever step into the Oval Office. The debt accumulated will be astronomical when all is said and done.

After the Jim Crow laws, Obamacare will go down in history as the worst legislation in our history as a nation.

Oh, I get it now. Sorry, I thought you were complaining specifically about Obamacare, when in fact you were just giving a laundry list of the taxes you don't like to pay. My bad :)

Of course, I should have known that, since the 39.6% tax rate doesn't have anything to do with Obamacare.

barfo

He doesn't like to pay them, but he likes to accept govt. money to put up solar panels and take our money to pay for his electricity at night when there is no sun.

I'm with ya!

barfo

The most popular question asked on the ObamaCare WWW sites and of their organizations is "where do we get a waiver?"

Obama, Congress, and friends of Obamas are getting the waivers.

You know when Denny has lost his marbles when he must reach with "Barfo" to make a dig at mags. Wow, the sky must be falling in Denny Town!

I think you whining about paying taxes at the same time getting tens of thousands of $$$ in benefits from the govt. is a little two-faced.

But that's me.

Its just you... And don't be calling the pot kettle boy. You have been trying to jump on board the solar wagon. And I've heard you bitch about taxation of the upper class. That's a little two faced, and that's just you.

I don't bitch about my taxes. I bitch about EVERYONE's.

Big difference.

Wow! and Wow again. Everyone in their right mind ought to be bitching about these new taxes implemented in Obama care. Then to say that taking tax credits disqualifies you from bitching about inappropriate taxation is stupid. Yes, dumb even.

Actually if you know what the hell makes the world turn you would also bitch about having tax credits for solar junk, even if you do personally take a credit.

Putting Tax credits on solar while closing down the usage of the cheapest energy available in this Nation is the ultimate display of ignorant. The same for giving out tax credits for electric automobiles when we could be pushing to run autos on natural gas, also most abundant to us.
We could be in a position to tell the Arabs to farm camels and keep your oil, but instead our ignorant leadership says build electric cars and solar power. Jesus Christ, I don't know where you can find and Engineer that will support that plan

This board is a prime example of what the hell is wrong with democracy, even the Republican Representative form we have. We give people the opportunity to vote for dumb plan all the time and then think we have done a good thing because it is the result of a vote. See Obama Care for the current example.

let's have a little perspective please.

Well on the bright side, it'll probably cost a lot of Demies their jobs.

Well, you know those Demies. They rarely get jobs to begin with, and if they lose them, they just go right on welfare and buy fancy cars. And now they'll have free healthcare too! But at least we won't have to pay their salaries anymore.

Tell your representative. Every waiver and delay has been made to accommodate big business.

And big unions. And Congress. On this point, the nutjob you play on this forum and I agree. If this will become the law, it needs to be enacted uniformly. Everyone should experience the same benefits and detriments.

The only way we get to see what a clusterfuck this law is, is not to hide any of it. Bare it for all to see. The Left have asked us to trust them with our very life and death. They should stand behind that idea and let us decide at the ballot box.

I have made this case rather forcefully to all my reps.

Well, since I wasn't originally refering to your opinion... I'll comment on your's now. KS must not be capable of defending what he writes. He's so lucky to have someone like yourself to do so.

Both sides voted on the act: true -Yes, It is true that not one republican voted for this law.

the ACA is the law of the land: true -Wow, you are really well informed.

Obama is not a dictator: true (if he was, we wouldn't be having a government shut down) - umm, some are questioning this, due to the President willfully ignoring the law(s) when it doesn't suit him and his abuse of executive orders

He (and the majority of the left) wanted free UHC: true - He publicly(accidentally) stated he wants single payer healthcare which is what this law will accomplish. Not once was it ever said to be "FREE" or stated that is the intention. Nothing in this world is free.

He compromised (with the R's) on what most of the left wanted: true - This is the sole reason I replied to KS. OMG, Obama has NOT compromised with republicans on this at all. He rammed this down the throat of America and all the republicans (and democrats) that voted against it. He wanted no input whatsoever from republicans, totally shut them out of the process. If you believe that Obama compromised then you at best are intellectually dishonest. The whole premise of your argument that he compromised (with republicans) is they wanted more, but settled for less? He had control over both houses and he had trouble getting his own party to vote for it.

So I'm guessing the color of the sky on KS's world is the same as it is in yours, mine and everyone elses. - Nope, The color of the sky in yours and KS world is much different then mine. Thank god for that.

Funny thing is back in 1995 when Clinton/Newt shut down government, I didn't even notice it was shut down.

Left wing media raised a stink about the national parks being closed and that seemed to be enough pressure to get government reopened. I'm seeing the national parks thing again on the news. "so and so came all the way from Japan to see X park."

So pass a bill to pay for the parks, or better yet, just allow people to use them without government interference.

I don't think the rest (beyond the trust funds) will be missed. And the trust funds are automatic, regardless.

The double standard needs to stop. Only way this country moves in the right direction is when both sides have a mutual goal. I know it seems impossible; but something really needs to give!

Are airplanes falling from the sky?

Are the roads any worse off than yesterday?

Are the drones still killing civilians in Pakistan?

I mean, what's to notice?

Saw this today, made me laugh.

No, obviously we have two very distinct and different views of of certain things. On the other hand we probably share many things in common, like our love of the Blazers.

If govt. provides for the "common welfare" of the people, we all should be affected, no?

I don't think we will feel most of the affects until it is over but certainly those on furlough are affected.
