Knick rookie Danilo Gallinari will now only play in blowout situations, coach Mike D'Antoni confirmed to the New York Post.

The situation is set to continue until Gallinari, who missed all of the preseason, gets "physically ready."

"I may have tried him out too early," D'Antoni said. "He's not physically ready. As soon as he gets ready physically, whether we win or lose, we'll play him when he's ready."

Wouldn't it make more sense to send him to the NBDL then? Instead of letting him rot on the bench, let him get some PT and some experience so he's more prepared when his number is called in an NBA game again.
