He's a bargain, but not great.Whoa hold up. Aminu is huge for us. He's a great role player.
There were not a lot of rebounds to be had tonight since both teams shot so well.Take-a-ways:
Dame is the best. Efficiency was on point, only took maybe 2 bad shots the entire game. Is there anything he can do to surprise us anymore?
Vonleh - holy shit. He showed a little bit of everything. Very exciting, albeit one game.
Beibs - Ew.
Harkless was invisible. And I'm one of his biggest supporters. 1 rebound in 20 minutes?
Aminu looked good.
And Crabbe... Hot damn he showed the improvement in his game. Now to watch the counter-attacks on his new improvements...
we laugh but if Dame said in an interview "I'm going to be as good as Michael Jordan this season" I'd fucking believe him.
OK, now that the game is over, I think I under sold the Jazz. They are going to be a tough opponent for teams this year.
He's a bargain, but not great.
yeah I loved that. He's so driven but honestly even when interviewers try to get him to brag he won't do it at all.You know what I loved in the interview he had after the game? The question was asked about the mvp chants and he said (paraphrasing a bit)
"It's good if I'm playing at that MVP level. But if I'm not playing at that level, I don't want it to be unnecessary."
That's great. It's how I feel about it. Dame and I are kindred souls, confirmed.
Damian Lillard is first player with at least 39 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in a season opener since Michael Jordan (11/3/89 vs. CLE).

Curious to hear y'alls assessment on Turner's first game.

He needs to not take mid-range jump shots off the dribble, but he generally played under control, and his defense was good. A little more familiarity/comfort in this system, and we're going to be very pleased with his contributions.Curious to hear y'alls assessment on Turner's first game.
+10Curious to hear y'alls assessment on Turner's first game.
that was without our TWO best players, Favors is pretty close to him. 100 year old Joe Johnson is going to be coming off the bench lol
Crabbe and Vonleh are going to make up for your little Evan Turner debacle i think ...
Awesome game, enjoy your season !
I'm not going to assess Turner for at least 10-20 games.Curious to hear y'alls assessment on Turner's first game.

Well the thought is that Joe and Diaw are playing off the bench to help with the early 4th quarters, not having to play 9 minuets to keep us afloat because we are missing 2 of our best players. But keep thinking that somehow Utah having Favors and Hayward would somehow lessen our performance, that's a cute thought. The Jazz would still expose mismatches on the low block with JJ no matter who is in the game.If you really expect ISO joe or George Hill to play as well as they did with Hayward, Favors, and Burks playing......
ISO joe had his best game in like 5+ years. went what? 10-11 in one quarter? Gimme a break.
I was lead to believe by the media and Jazz fans that ISO joe, hill, and diaw were brought in to help Utah with their 4th quarter woes.
Utah had no field goals in the final 4 minutes of the game.
Who knew Utah would be the same team as last year, battling for the lower playoff seeds.

I think the point is that if Haywood had played, the chances are slim that he would have gone 9-9 (?) in the 3rd quarter. Yes, you'll be a better team with him back in the line-up, but regarding TONIGHT it's more likely that he wouldn't have performed as well as JJ did which would have made the margin of victory larger (or at least it wouldn't have come down to the final minutes).Well the thought is that Joe and Diaw are playing off the bench to help with the early 4th quarters, not having to play 9 minuets to keep us afloat because we are missing 2 of our best players. He hit the game tying three point play in the 4th when we really needed it.5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, and ZERO turnovers in 26 minutes. He went 1-7 from the floor but that will come. He's the new guy. Everyone else in the rotation has been playing together for over a year.

Ed Davis: "it's not about being pretty or cute, at the end of the day we just go to work and get a win."
Brooke: "you don't think you're cute?"
Ed Davis: "oh I know I'm cute. I won't call myself pretty; I let the ladies do that."
