Take-a-ways:

Dame is the best. Efficiency was on point, only took maybe 2 bad shots the entire game. Is there anything he can do to surprise us anymore?

Vonleh - holy shit. He showed a little bit of everything. Very exciting, albeit one game.

Beibs - Ew.

Harkless was invisible. And I'm one of his biggest supporters. 1 rebound in 20 minutes?

Aminu looked good.

And Crabbe... Hot damn he showed the improvement in his game. Now to watch the counter-attacks on his new improvements...
There were not a lot of rebounds to be had tonight since both teams shot so well.

we laugh but if Dame said in an interview "I'm going to be as good as Michael Jordan this season" I'd fucking believe him.

You know what I loved in the interview he had after the game? The question was asked about the mvp chants and he said (paraphrasing a bit)

"It's good if I'm playing at that MVP level. But if I'm not playing at that level, I don't want it to be unnecessary."

That's great. It's how I feel about it. Dame and I are kindred souls, confirmed.

OK, now that the game is over, I think I under sold the Jazz. They are going to be a tough opponent for teams this year.

Yeah they will be a problem. Like I said in preseason after watching them vs the Clippers, and it was the same tonight....they get a lot of easy looks. So they will be in most games.

yeah I loved that. He's so driven but honestly even when interviewers try to get him to brag he won't do it at all.

Look at our bench and then go look at the Warriors bench.

He's a bargain, but not great.

I don't know what more you want from a bargain role player who plays very good and versatile defense, rebounds, hits open 3s, and doesn't complain about his role. His ballhandling looks improved to me too. He's no point guard, but for a guy being defended by PFs, he's going to handle well enough to have an advantage. Of course he has his limitations. That's what role players are.

Curious to hear y'alls assessment on Turner's first game.
He needs to not take mid-range jump shots off the dribble, but he generally played under control, and his defense was good. A little more familiarity/comfort in this system, and we're going to be very pleased with his contributions.

that was without our TWO best players, Favors is pretty close to him. 100 year old Joe Johnson is going to be coming off the bench lol

Crabbe and Vonleh are going to make up for your little Evan Turner debacle i think ...

Awesome game, enjoy your season !

If you really expect ISO joe or George Hill to play as well as they did with Hayward, Favors, and Burks playing......
ISO joe had his best game in like 5+ years. went what? 10-11 in one quarter? Gimme a break.
I was lead to believe by the media and Jazz fans that ISO joe, hill, and diaw were brought in to help Utah with their 4th quarter woes.
Utah had no field goals in the final 4 minutes of the game.
Who knew Utah would be the same team as last year, battling for the lower playoff seeds.

Well the thought is that Joe and Diaw are playing off the bench to help with the early 4th quarters, not having to play 9 minuets to keep us afloat because we are missing 2 of our best players. But keep thinking that somehow Utah having Favors and Hayward would somehow lessen our performance, that's a cute thought. The Jazz would still expose mismatches on the low block with JJ no matter who is in the game.

You actually believe ISO joe would GET 11 shots in one quarter if Hayward, Favors, Burks played tonight? That's a cute thought.
I don't even care about makes or misses.

Curious to hear y'alls assessment on Turner's first game.

He's still trying to fit in and learn when and where to look for his shots. So yeah, he shot like shit, but he wasn't brought here for his shooting. His 5 ast, 5 reb, 1 blk, 1 stl and 0 TOV off the bench was why he was brought here. We know Dame and C.J. can score off the dribble, but like almost every player in the NBA, their shooting percentages go up off catch and shoot opportunities. Turner creates those opportunities for them. It allows them both to become more efficient scorers and that makes our team better.

Tuner will improve, as he learns his new teammates and system. It's easy to shit all over a guy when he has a horrific shooting night, but again, that's not why he was brought here and I prefer to look at the bigger picture.

I think the point is that if Haywood had played, the chances are slim that he would have gone 9-9 (?) in the 3rd quarter. Yes, you'll be a better team with him back in the line-up, but regarding TONIGHT it's more likely that he wouldn't have performed as well as JJ did which would have made the margin of victory larger (or at least it wouldn't have come down to the final minutes).

Your team shot VERY well tonight. Part of that was our pathetic defense, but you guys also made some good/tough shots. If you can maintain that sort of shooting then you're looking very good. But can you maintain that shooting? That's what we'll find out over the course of the season.

Ed Davis: "it's not about being pretty or cute, at the end of the day we just go to work and get a win."
Brooke: "you don't think you're cute?"
Ed Davis: "oh I know I'm cute. I won't call myself pretty; I let the ladies do that."
