Excluding Lillard & McCollum, who are the 3 best draft picks made by Olshey as the Blazers' GM?

  • Poll closed .
after all the chatter about running off the ball offense for Dame, I really didn't see any of that in the 40 minutes Dame played. They ran lots of plays for CJ and Powell, but just like under Stotts Dame had to create all his own offense and he was ice cold tonight

Nas and Ant looked good in limited minutes

Blazers will get better, but, they ain't close to being a contender

PROS:
  • Bench looks strong with Nance and Zeller.
  • Ant looks like a different player. Playing with poise and confidence. Not settling for 3s only and making some nice plays.
  • Nas playing with energy and confidence.
  • Nurkic picked it up in the 2nd half. 20 pts, 14 rebs

I know it’s just one game, but Lillard was beyond “bad” tonight.

I don’t blame him for missing threes, that happens, but his body language was terrible all game and his decision making in the 4th was not just bad, but utterly selfish. Taking contested 40 footers when CJ is on fire is just ridiculous.
Lillard likes to play Hero Ball.

Dame played off the ball with Nas and Ant at one point in this game

I know he was off the ball at times...but Portland ran no offense to get him catch-&-shoot opportunities. Dame was actually better than CJ at spot-up shooting. But that was only 5% of his offense. I don't recall a single spot-up shot tonight for him

They ran plays for Dame. He just was lackadaisical and barely went through the motions.

Seriously pissed me off watching Dame tonight. I’m sick of him making all these Instagram posts about how hard he works, or all these rap songs about how badass he is, then showing up like this and just shrugging it off like “oh well I made my money already.”

Success has gone to his head. He is playing like he’s above the team and has been for some time. Billups needs to knock him down a peg or get him to leave the team so we can get young talent like Simmons for him while we still can. I’m sick of this shit.

LOL...you and Aldo should get a room

Biggest positive for me was the assist:turnover ratio was much much better than the preseason. Hopefully this can maintain against teams that aren't going to be the worst defensive teams in the league.

if you watched that shit and weren’t disgusted by Dame you are part of the problem. His effort over the last 5 games including preseason would be enough to get cut if he were a role player.
You expected effort from him in the preseason? You must be new to watching professional sports...

Bench surprisingly good.

Signs of “defense” during the game, but defense needs to be played in all 4 quarters!

Dame was cold. Tonight was an opportunity to let someone else take the last shot. We can’t win every tight game with Dame being the only one ever to shoot - again, tonight Chauncey could have called CJ’s number.

I’ve been saying for a long time, RoCo is a solid bench player on a winning team. Nance needs to start and bring RoCo in as 8th man. First players off the bench should be Simons or Little…then RoCo. I think we’d be much better off.

Finally…fuking Barnes! I want to eat what he had for breakfast in the morning! Career high! 8 three’s….and we were not smart enough to play in his face!

Summary - I hope Chauncey is smart, because he didn’t use much smarts tonight I’m afraid.

a). No adjustments made on Barnes; I’ll bet Little could have played better D than RoCo did on Barnes;
b). Simons played really good and could have played more minutes, saving Dame from playing 40
c). Knowing it’s early in this season and Dame had gone 0-8 up to that last possession, coach could have added a perplexity to game-ending scenarios by calling CJ to take the game-tying shot. It was the perfect opportunity. Dame would not have been mad about it and CJ’s stock may have risen high enough for us to see Ben Simmons a Blazer! ;) Seriously, he missed an opportunity for CJ’s confidence to rise!
Now it’s known around the league that Dame will be taking EVERY last shot…..too bad.

geeeezuz....lighten up Francis. Yeah, right, I am part of Portland's problem. I should have done a better job of covering Barnes
