:reading:OFFICIAL KINGS' GAME NOTES
:reading: OFFICIAL BLAZERS' GAME NOTES
• Friday marks the first of three regular season matchups between the Trail Blazers and Kings in 2016-17.

• The Trail Blazers have won six consecutive games over the Kings and have been victorious in 10 of the past 12 matchups.

• Portland has won six straight home contests against Sacramento, and is 12-2 in its past 14 contests vs. the Kings at the Moda Center dating back to 2008-09.

• With six straight wins, this is the Trail Blazers longest winning streak over the Kings since winning eight consecutive games from 11/21/08 to 1/19/11.

• Portland swept the season series, 4-0, from Sacramento in 2015-16, and has now won three consecutive season series over the Kings. The Trail Blazers have not lost a season series to Sacramento since the 2007-08 season (two series ties).

• CJ McCollum averaged a career-high 24.8 points on 44.8% shooting and 5.0 assists in four games against the Kings in 2015-16. McCollum recorded 35 points (14-28 FG), 11 rebounds, nine assists and four steals against Sacramento on Dec. 27, 2015.

• In a game against Sacramento last season on Dec. 27, 2015, CJ McCollum became the first Trail Blazer to record at least 35 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and four steals in a game since Clyde Drexler (1/28/92 at GS). McCollum was also the first NBA player to accomplish that feat since Kevin Garnett on Dec. 10, 2004.

• Damian Lillard averaged a double-double (16.7 ppg, 10.0 apg) in three games against Sacramento last season. Lillard recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 assists in his first matchup with the Kings last season on Jan. 26, 2016.

• TEAM RANKS: The Trail Blazers rank 10th in the NBA with a scoring average of 106.9 points per game, while the Kings are slated 23rd in the league with a mark of 98.6 points per game.

• TEAM RANKS: Portland is shooting 37.2% from beyond the arc (7th highest in NBA), while Sacramento is holding its opponents to 33.6% shooting from three (12th lowest in NBA).

• CONNECTION: CJ McCollum and Kings center Kosta Koufos were high school teammates at GlenOak High School in Ohio.

• CONNECTION: Arron Afflalo played in 29 games for Portland in 2014-15, averaging 10.6 points on 41.4% shooting.

Hey DW....do you get roster updates pregame as to who starts?

If we don't board against this team we could be in trouble. Right now every scouting report is to crash the offense board against us.

I would trade anyone outside of Dame for Cousins.

He's going to destroy all our bigs tomorrow. I would trade McCollum for him but CJ is so close with Lillard I doubt Olshey would. It would go against the culture he's been preaching about since he's gotten hired.

Also there's no way we get Cousins without giving up CJ (Dame shouldn't even be discussed, he's untouchable.) If we did, might as well build Olshey a statue.

Nothing in the original post about what is going to happen when the riots move to the Rose Quarter!!

I don't see the point in trading CJ for Cousins. We'd still need a 3rd option and chemistry would take a hit.

I don't buy that Kings will not sell unless for a huge price. He will be gone next year anyway and they will not make playoffs even with him this year or next year because the team is a mess. They will have to reset but nobody will give them a huge price for a character like Boogie. If we offer them Aminu, Crabbe and Plumlee and a pick for example, this would probably be as good as they are going to get, three competent players who they can keep for years. Alternatively you can swap one of them for any of Davis, Turner and Leonard, depending on who they like. It's IMO very doable and even probable.

CJ for Cousins they would bite at instantly, he has a long deal and is one of top 5 shooting guards in the league. It's a no brainer between a top, young SG tied for 5 years and a disgruntled center who will leave in 1 year.

No Brainer. Would really like to Keep Harkless, Leonard and Plums though, if possible.

They will want players in return, they need to somehow compensate for the loss, ideally someone of value who they will be able to keep and develop. We have many of them. Our picks are not worth that much as they will be mid 20s but nobody will give them high picks AND players for 18 months of Cousins.

Back to the game, it's a must win. They are tired from loss to Lakers and generally not that good.

My guess is they don't want 3 or 4 players in return for Cousins. 2 players, plus as many draft picks as possible for him. Cleveland 1st, our first, maybe a future 1st as well?
They won't get 3 firsts. Two would be pushing it, but I could see Neil caving and giving both ours and CLE's with 3 players from a group consisting of Crabbe/Aminu/Davis/Plumlee/Meyers/Vonleh/Turner/Layman. Personally I would not want to include Vonleh or Layman, but I think if push comes to shove Neil would do it.

Meyers, Crabbe, Connaughton, and the Cleveland first rounder

And he would be right to do so.

Man, Cuz or AD would make us a title contender. Sigh.

AD would. Cousins would make us better, but wouldn't improve our defense enough to make us championship contenders.

From Marc Stein: http://www.espn.com/blog/marc-stein/post/_/id/4664/big-stars-score-like-never-before

Keep an eye on Kings big man Willie Cauley-Stein. Word is Sacramento is open to moving the second-year big man, who wants more of a role than he has under new Kings coach Dave Joerger.

If he's actually on the market, I'd try to get him. He's the second coming of Tyson Chandler. We need his defense.

More from Sactown: http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2016/11/11/13601574/sacramento-kings-willie-cauley-stein-trade-rumor

I would not move Lillard and McCollum for sure, and I would rather keep Harkless but for Cousins we have to consider moving on any from the rest.

Cauley-Stein is a good prospect. If he could come cheaply he could even be a better option than Noel now.
