Is Terry gonna wake up and actually hold his players accountable? Season is about to slip out of their hands if he doesn't do anything.
Season slipped when Zach's arm fell off and Rodney's back freaked out.....we're playing Trent Jr and Moses Brown ...good news is our bench will get better even if we lose some games early on.

Everybody? Vegas and most national media had us winning less games than last year. Fans who had been banging only Olshey to get rid of Aminu and Harkless thought (aka hoped) their wishes were going to lead to more wins.

Vegas and media ALWAYS say we’ll suck. That’s known.

I don’t mean LITERALLY everybody but a lot of folks here INCLUDING myself thought we made upgrades and praised Olshey.

The problem is we shouldn't suck THIS bad. I can understand losing to good teams because we’re new abd getting use to each other. But to lose to the Santa Cruz Warriors and Kings without their best players, something is wrong.

I’ve said it before but I believe something negative is happening behind the scenes we don’t know about. You can’t just suck this bad.

If it were 2 on 2, I would like the Blazers chances. When you play your vet minimum and rookie contract guys 111 minutes, you're going to lose a lot of games, including to bad teams on the road.

The Warriors roster was filled with all rookie and minimum guys.

Aminu probably are ready made his mind made up to leave due he sign pretty quick when the time to sign same as Curry. Harkless well Olshey need a center to replace Nurk so he trade for Whiteside and Harkless and Leonard match up with Whiteside contract.

I agree with you. If you go back to the game thread, I said we should've won that game and I bet the next time we play them, we will beat them.

Again, when you roll out a roster where you're always going to have guys on the floor who are liabilities at one or both ends of the floor, you are going to be subject to lose. Like all NBA teams, we'll win and lose games we shouldn't. Overall though, we're going to be losing a lot more until our front court is healthy again.

I actually noticed the first ones were the regular kind. Lol. It's ok though- I've found that the glowing ones are easier to find on my nightstand, when I wake up hungry at 3am....

(And now I have to go check our Safeway tomorrow. Thanks. Lol)

I guess we'll just have to disagree.

Right now we basically took Nurk, Collins, Hood, Aminu, Harkless, Meyers, Turner, Curry, and Jake off the roster and replaced them with Whiteside, Baze, Mario, and Tolliver. If ANYONE thinks that exchange is an upgrade, they're going to continue to be disappointed.

Question: Is Whiteside better than Kanter?

Healthy Im still of the opinion this team is better. Then last years, but they’re missing so many bigs. Missing Hood hurts too. They need to play Little, stop babying every rookie we get. Its getting old, and our wings havent done anything to speak off.

Question: Is Whiteside better than Kanter?

generically, yeah probably

but Kanter had some good synergy with Dame, much like Nurkic did. He would have been a better fit but then the Blazers wouldn't have Hood

oh come on everybody loved the moves we made. Although the Tolliver and Pau signings were weird a lot of us including myself thought we made nice upgrades

Thought Pau would be good for the Playoffs but never liked the Tolliver signing.
Help me out with this. I don't care who is on the floor for the Blazers, why does it seem on most nights so far, the other team is playing harder and out hustling us?

We looked really good to start the night, our bench came in and we collapsed with turnovers, then we fought back and got within 5 on the road and had a shot to win even when the kings got home-Court calls all game.

wasn’t that bad of a loss. It’s early in the season. The blazers are in their own heads, and the constant negativity and full-blown-panicking from blazer fans isn’t helping.
Fucks sake.

Do you really believe that? Kanter was a really good pick and roll threat. Whiteside is the worst starting roll man Dame has ever played with. I'm starting to believe Kanter may even be a better defensive player. He's not the rim protector Whiteside is but he had quick feet and by the end of his tenure was usually in the right position all the time. This is probably a knee jerk reaction but the compromise on offense is definitely a real thing.

Cuz outside of Dame and a buncha youngins, we have pansies who are more concerned with flexing on basic plays and acting fake tough instead of real ballers.

Luke Walton is talking about how he’s been emphasizing defense during their recent win streak... thinking back on it, the Kings played very solid, high-intensity defense all night.
Weird, I cant remember ever hearing Stotts say he's been consistently emphasizing defense.

Youre starting to believe Whiteside is a worse defender than Kanter?

You cant be serious with that take...

The Blazers might be the worst coached team in the league. Having Zach Collins there would have helped in the wins column but our perimeter guys are going 1 on 5 on most possessions and our big guys are discouraged from taking shots inside.

There is no GAME PLAN. It's put guys out on the court and see what happens via Dame or CJ.

Enes started in two playoff series and was mostly fine. Now we had better defensive personnel last year, and I admit some of this is kneejerk, but there are stretches where Whiteside literally does not give a fuck on defense. He doesn't even box out. Multiple times this game Richaun Holmes grabbed offensive rebounds just jumping over him. He was a non factor on defense against the Kings! When engaged he's clearly better, but there's so possessions every game where he just does absolutely nothing how can you pencil him in as a positive on defense on a night in night out basis?

Not yet, but given some time to develop some chemisty with a stable rotation and I'm pretty sure Hassan will be way better ….Kanter is a way better offensive rebounder and has a better jumper
The thing I see in Whiteside the ball has to come down where he standing if it two feet away from him he doesn't bother. Defensely he always has his hands down to much to be effective defender or rim protector. Yes he gets blocks but he doesn't change a lot shots around the basket.
