As I was saying…when Nurkic can put together a string of games that are at least decent I’ll admit I’m wrong about him. 19 mins, 5 fouls, 3 TO (led team), 6 points.
Nah, if there is interest in Nurk from any team around the league we should cash him in for the value we can get... the guy is so inconsistent and he's somehow a prima donna despite never having accomplished anything of note.

I think you misread my post

I don't think I did. We're probably on the same page about Nurk. The "nah" at the beginning of my reply was like: nah he'll never make you admit that you're wrong. That being said, I might be totally off base. So let me know.

Hard to be exited about this team now, but we not even in december yet.

looks like Dame has figured out if the three's aren't falling, move 8' closer

Few players are efficient from mid range and Dame is not one of them. If the refs are not gonna call fouls when Dame drives that hurts half of his efficient shots and if he can’t shoot 3’s there goes the other half.

Probably. But Curry is a 6% better three point shooter so when Dame slumps to 25% that’s Curry slumping to 31%.

Probably? I can guarantee you he doesn’t. Dame level slumps are long

I do enjoy watching Powell and Nance. The only fighters on the team. Ant and nas are coming along too. There is nothing fun about anyone else, just sad. Endless dribbling.

Dame and Nurk picknroll is sweet when nurk finishes… IF he finishes…

Man, CJ looks dejected in this interview. Looks like he’s the player finding it most difficult to make the adjustments to the new coach and system. For a guy that posts on social media daily, he hasn’t posted in a couple of days.

I'm not sure if this roster were 5 years younger, they'd be much better on the defensive end.
Maybe it's just me that is getting too old to keep up the Blazer fan intensity? I missed the Ducks' opener but I am really looking forward to following a team that always plays hard and smart, even though I won't know 2/3 of the players at the beginning.

example of bad 3-point defense

everyone but roco guards their player, kaminsky is yet to arrive

roco makes mistake by helping nurk, instead of waiting for kaminsky

kaminsky arrives and is wide open on a 3-point line, but not only that, look at dame and how far hes from booker, he couldve easily get the ball and shoot while wide open

Well again they don't have the right personal to play Billups system on defense. Offensely they play his system maybe a quarter then it's right back to there old ways.

he's always like that after losses

Nailed that one. At least you've moved past the stage many duck fans are in which includes being concerned because the Oregon team appears to have a horrible offense and no rythem the first 6 weeks.

sure...that wasn't my point though. Dame has been shooting terrible from the arc and he's averaged 9.5 attempts a game. Last night, he only took 4 from behind the arc. The result was his efficiency was much better and it looked like he was regaining some confidence. At this point, I'm clinging to tiny silver linings in all the dark clouds

i think he was talking Duck basketball, not Duck football....?

* Blazers are now down to 23rd in defense and a net rating of only +0.9. That's where they stand when their home/road scale is balance after 12 games

* Blazers have had the 6th most difficult SOS so far according to bbref. TeamRankings says it's 7th most difficult. PowerRankings says 5th most difficult

http://powerrankingsguru.com/nba/strength-of-schedule.php

if you want a simple explanation for why the Warriors have the best record, all three of the SOS rankings say the Warriors have had by far the easiest schedule. A big part of that is having a 10-3 home/road imbalance. On the other side of that are the reports that Klay Thompson may return before Christmas. He's sure to be rusty but if he can get back to even 75% of what he was, the Warriors will be formidable

* Blazers supposedly have the 5th easiest remaining SOS. But all of these SOS rankings don't mean much because of sample size

Ariza + Jones + 3 first round picks have so far, bought Portland 12 points, 10 rebs, 2 asts & 2 turnovers this season (RoCo/Nance). Plus 1 winshare and a negative BPM. Doesn't seem like a very good return to me, but maybe I overvalue non-lottery 1st round picks

Concern about the Oregon football offense is legit.

Find a Duck board in December and you'll see many post with people up in arms about how bad Altman's offense is and how "this years team" just doesn't have it. Then March rolls around...

that's true. Altman's teams generally do tend to start slow, but get much better as a season progresses, as long as there aren't major injuries. Altman actually adapted to the transfer portal before there was a transfer portal so he always has new players to get up to speed

in the last 6 seasons, his teams have won 6 Pac-12/Pac-12-Tournament championships. 6 out of 12 possible. That's fairly dominant. And if Chris Boucher hadn't been injured in 2017, they would have won the NCAA championship

I was talking about the Duck basketball team; sorry if that wasn't clear, they have only played one game, right? .......

I was as well. My bad for not being clear. I'm referencing the last 10ish years of my discussion with duck fans regarding Altman and the teams early season offensive struggles that I chuckle at.

Yeah I just meant that ultimately he’s got to get his 3 back. If hitting mid range shots is a way to get there then great.
