didnt see the game but ive noticed noah hasnt been doing fuck all on the stat sheet. i understand nurk plays better with him out there, but are we really sacrificing PF to have a C? or is this the same bs stotts did before where he gets the start, then gets pulled?

Vonleh is criminally underrated on defense. The only player on our team who has an argument over him is Aminu. Last year after we got Nurk, our D rtg with Nurk and no Vonleh was still bad. Our D rtg with both on the floor was elite. He positions well, has quick feet, good strength, long arms, etc. His one on one defense is excellent. He can guard the perimeter or the interior. Unfortunately, he is also the definition of mediocre garbage man on offense so far. He's an excellent rebounder though.

Stotts lost me by continuing to give Pat playing time. The guy is a worse AC on offense and gets caught ball watching all of the time on defense. If he was a more aggressive scorer, I could see it, but Napier is better than him at everything and should be taking almost all of his minutes. He also can do something that neither Cj or Evan is managing: run an offense. Napier got us back into the game, and was then pulled.
Also. Not putting in Nurk was one of the most perplexing things I've ever seen. This isn't the NCAA. Talent wins games in the NBA. You put your best players out there and count on them to make plays. Unless Nurk was injured, I cannot fathom this line of thinking.

If the other team goes on a 17 point run it's on the coach. You have to make adjustments long before it gets to 17-0, Stotts needs to improve in substituting, in making the right changes and adjustments

I just can’t get over this... Nurkic has 21 points in 25 min and Stotts doesn’t play him in the 4th because he wants to match up with them instead of making them matchup with us... this is the freaking Nets not the Warriors... why would you let them dictate the game... Stotts needs to be fired tomorrow... Easyest part of season and we are 6-6 losing home games to bottom feeders like Nets

He will be fired. I think they do it in the offseason tho.

It’s pretty obvious Stotts wont last but it’s important the timing is right.

This isn't all on Stotts. Yes, his line ups tonight were brutal. His substitution pattern was odd, and we are under performing. HOWEVER, this roster is so flawed. We don't have solid vets, who have "been there before" to get the team through shit like this. We have guys on our roster who literally have added nothing to this season. A team wanting to take the next step, can't have a 10mm per year scrub, a top 10 pick in a loaded draft who can't get off the bench, and what seems like 12 guys who play the same frontline position.

This year, Portland ranks 14th in offensive efficiency 1.040 but 5th in defensive efficiency 0.973

This team is actually net better.

We've already seen that they struggle against length. I suppose our only hope is to face a medium team.

Agreed. Take out the best and worst game so far, recalculate and see where we are. That is what is often done with averages with computing data. Also, our SOS can't be very good. A lot of weak teams and mostly at home. Wait till we start playing real playoff teams.

'Small & quick' is not accurate. Nets were MUCH bigger than Portland.
When you have Shabazz (5-9), CJ (6-2), & Pat (6-4) going against 6-6, 6-7, & 6-9 you're put at a major disadvantage

Being injured to start the season didn't help him. It's might be a bit like when Stotts wouldn't play CJ after he was hurt to start the season.
