this isn't a bad idea. but it's gonna be tough to get PJ without giving up Zach + young piece to make the contracts work.
Go Blazers! Sucks to lose Nurk...get the next one....enjoy the ride! Lotta season left...Giles gets his shot!
He plays with a bunch of energy for sure.A guy like McConnell would be a godsend for portland.
Was thinking it would keep em fresh? So turns out taking a six to eight minute stretch off each night is not a flawless strategy.
You beat me to it! Was thinking about melo at center because .... Well MELO!Hopefully this opens up more minutes for Melo.

I agree. Thats what bugged me in bubble that nurkic because of loyalty was getting more minutes and whiteside was clearly better, much much better on defense with shot blocking , and on offense they were probably equal. Nurkic for me has been the biggest disappointment, he was great 1st year here and even before his nasty injury his decline was rapid. The blazers will become better team without him Giles puts in work give him and kanter the goThe reality is even Whiteside was better than this version of Nurkic.
We used to have a guy like that (several times) in Steve Blake. And too many people bitched about him too......and if we get another guy like that, he’ll be found lacking also. Welcome to Blazer fandom.........He plays with a bunch of energy for sure.
Saw hat right after I posted.RoCo just failed doing that.
I disagree with those saying Whiteside is better than Nurk. Nurk was finally getting in shape. He dominated the 4th quarter against the Kings. When he's healthy and in game shape he's one of the best centers in the league. I'm starting to doubt his ability to stay healthy though.
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2020/12/knicks-release-skal-labissiere.htmlI don't think Skal is signed anymore...he was with the Hawks...
Agree 100% about looking for a modern center. Like both your ideas for who also, but I think both would be expensive and we don't have much to offer. We'll have to find a diamond in the rough, I think. I would even consider getting Wenyen Gabriel back. Must be others out there also.Sad for Nurk, but time this team obtained a modern center anyways. A guy who can cover the paint and help on pick and rolls. Two big, clogging centers in todays game is 1.5 too many. I wish they would had gotten into the Harden trade and picked up Allen from Brooklyn. Kanter would be a perfect backup to him and gives us a nice mix centers that we desperately need. Not sure if Cleveland would give him up so soon, but worth a call. Holmes for Sac would be another great fit.
So where are the dudes who like to come in here after wins and call out the people from the game thread? Where they at?

by the way, when contrasting the Blazers and the Pacers, keep in mind that the Pacers played last night without Caris LeVert, TJ Warren, and Jeremy Lamb

Wait, was anyone actually saying Whiteside is better than Nurk?
If you were to ask me to name the best pick n roll combos in the league, I would never have thought to mention Brogdan to Sabas, but they looked DAMN good last night.Yep. Pacers are no joke. You will not come back from 20 down twice against that team. Certainly not on a B2B when you are a step slow and the shot isn't there.
Hey @Natebishop3 I assume this is aimed at me bro.....I'm sorry I couldn't come in and post. My close firmed just died last night from COVID and have been kinda' dealing with that. Once again I apologize. So where are the dudes who like to come in here after wins and call out the people from the game thread? Where they at?
