Because of corporate greed and antiquated blackout rules, I will be blacked out today even though I bought League Pass.

I was so pumped we hired Calabro, but that excitement waned after hearing his broadcasts. He did TV calls like they were radio ones. I don't need narration of every dribble/shot clock count/pass when I can watch it. I think he was conditioned to do this from his time in Seattle when they used the same broadcast for both TV and radio. Combine that with his constant mistakes, I found him far less impressive than his resume indicated.

I like Kent. He might be a bit plain, and Hurd need to build chemistry, but I see potential. I just wish they were not so rosy about everything. Announcing teams can point out negatives as well (especially Hurd)-- and neither seems to be able to do that. The whole commentary needs to get elevated. Hurd never even points out zone defenses, much less changes in weakside defense, or plays, etc. With this commentary and the gimmicky camera shit and Brooke, it just seems like they're catering to a casual audience and not the diehards. It is what it is.

Huh? Hurd pointed out a zone defense just last night. Hurd is fantastic.
 
hurd is fine, I like him. Kent is awful. Super nice guy, a great person and hard to 'dislike' him at all. But this isnt a good fit. Nothing memorable about him. I would love Barret back, and with Hurd. I think those two could work. I expect announcers for each team to be "biased', the entire league is like that, and same with every sport. Rice was OK, at least memorable and unique.

I was hoping they finally improved the interface, but yet again, it is worse than before. Especially streaming on my laptop. How in 2021 it remains this poor is baffling to me.

I like em both. Except the "Gary Trent Jr" bit? Can't figure it out and i don't know why it bugs me because it really shouldn't. As has been pointed out it's his name.
The thing is they are willing to say "Lillard", "CJ", "Melo", Covington, Nurk or Nurkic, "Simons" (because he isn't gonna say Anfernee right?). They say almost every other players last name only and or their nickname. But with Gary Trent and with Derrick Jones they gotta say Jr.
They do not say Harry Giles "the third" III.

I don't know. Pretty petty. And if that is the only problem i got? There isn't a problem right?

I'm hoping the shots fall tonight and the Blazers keep this one a bit easier. They might not have the energy to pull off a big comeback let alone two of them.
Like i said earlier. The Pacers are no joke. Got to make some open looks early and get them on the ropes. Make them fight back in a road game.
Remember this is just like another road game for the Blazers. They have still not stopped traveling over the last two weeks. Away Away Away Away Home one day Home Away Home is not a home stand. They need to dig deep for this one.

We used to be known as the Portland (Ore) Trail Blazers, as if Maine had a ball club :)

it only takes the other team to get hot or blazers to get cold

even bad teams win games, you never know

i can see us going 5-2 in these 7 home games
 
I'll be curious to see if Indiana focuses their defense more on Dame or more on CJ. Even with CJ's incredibly hot start, I still see opposing defenses focused on Dame

by the way, after last night Dame actually has a higher TS% than CJ
 
Is it strange that I don't feel myself hating the Rockets anymore?
 
Alright, time to get to work. Let me know if it's OK that after a long day, when I get home, I can relax and read what I'm quite sure will be a rollercoaster of emotions of a thread. Sorry I won't be able to post as the game goes on.

If we can beat a good Pacers team after playing on the road last night, that would be extra sweet!
