Didn't read this whole thread, but did anybody mention how pumped DAME was on the bench when Melo went on his run.? My man was jumping up and down like some nut job! Loved seeing that. And I'm quite sure that had to feel good for Melo. A bit of acceptance when a 1st team all NBA player is acting crazy like that for you.
It's what makes this team special, win or lose they don't kick a guy when he's down and they celebrate when he's beastin'.....best lockerroom in the league I'd guess...

they had some video of it last night. It was just a couple of seconds, but yeah, he was excited. Looked like he was right up at the end of the coach's box too

that might be true, although Toronto sure seems to be pretty tight; Milwaukee too

but it's certainly a sign when NBA GM's vote Dame as the best leader in the league. He sets the tone for sure. And he works hard to bring new guys into the mix. Nurkic was talking about Dame being a brother a week after he was traded to Portland. Kanter and Hood said some of the same things last year. Melo has already implied it, and for sure, Dame and Melo seemed to be getting on the same page in last night's game

I'll give Olshey credit for doing a good job of bringing in character guys during his tenure. But I think a lot of it started with Paul Allen. He really seemed to reset the gauges after the jailblazer era and demand integrity and accountability from players. I mean, when was the last time any Blazer was associated with anything negative? (other than their turnovers and bad defense). I mean, the "darkest" thing any of them has done has been Lopez going to Comic-Con....what an outlaw!

I like the Bucks and Raps.....in the Bucks case they have a bunch of players that came through our culture...Patty C, Wes, Rolo

We all know it was genuine also. Such a good feeling to have someone step up when he knows he is hurting. When that happened Dame knew he didn’t have to go back in the game! It’s just a little thing but it’s worth quite a bit.
