I played goalie Al. There is a big difference between driving to the front of the net and getting a goalie interference call (which it was) and taking a run at the goalie behind the goal. Watch what the Canes guy does with his stick. He sticks it between Igor’s legs. Then he lifts his stick, lifting Igor’s leg off the ice. Then he puts his leg out, running his leg into Igor’s leg, causing Igor to go flying. That’s a cheap shot.
 
WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT!!! Rempe crowds Anderson but makes no contact. Gets leveled. No call against Canes. Fuck off
 
I can’t think of a more irritating player than Guentzal . He ranks up there with Justin Williams
 
Rempe should’ve just crushed Anderson. If the refs aren’t going to protect Rempe after the whistle nor protect Igor DURING play, then Rempe needs to end a career
 
Well it’s obvious, refs have been told to swallow the whistles when Canes do something.
 
Of course. As per usual we let up a late ass goal. This team can never close out a period.

Because then they would’ve had to call slashing also on the Canes player. Watch the play again. When they come off the boards, the Canes player slashes Miller, which should’ve been a penalty and stopped play and we should’ve been on a PP. instead, the ref watched it happen, didn’t call it, which then allowed it all to escalate to where it got to. Refs could’ve sent a message by giving 5 for intent to injure, but didn’t. Could’ve sent a message when Rempe was hit well after the whistle, but didn’t. Instead they yelled at Rempe. Gary has sent the message, refs have received it.
 
Rangers need to wise up to the Canes gameplan. They are shooting from up top and getting deflections, they have scored 4 of their goals in a similar fashion. This game going kind of how I expected, Canes have a little extra jump and desperation due to the situation. We'll see if the Rangers can up their game, but I feel this is a Carolina night.
 
Some of you guys love to complain about the refs...LOL. They miss calls both ways, I think the refs have been terrible in both the NHL and NBA playoffs thus far. Every team gets some calls and doesn't get others. Big picture I think the badness balances out...:).
 
I think they are pretty evenly matched teams to be honest. I just think tonight is a game for Carolina to win. Going to be a long series I feel.
 
Yeah, they tried to coast with like :20 left...can't do that in the playoffs. Got burned.

The issue is the double ass standard. Rempe runs their goalie like Igor got run, Rempe is out for the game and getting suspended. Rempe crushes a guy late like he was in front of goal after the whistle, he gets 2. Instead no penalty and Rempe gets yelled at. Double standard. Just call it even. Let Rempe hit people like others are allowed to hit. Stop giving him lectures for crowding a goalie after the whistle. You don’t wanna call a penalty there? Fine. But don’t start yelling at him like he was in the wrong.
 
Worst part of moving up that late goal is that our second periods have not been great so far in the playoffs except for one game.
