It’s what they know. Can’t wait until stotts starts staggering guards and CJ ends up back with the second unit.

Hasn’t that already happened? Or is he saying it’s because of injures...

I know they paid ET a lot, but to me he’s the weak link. He cant shoot. Defenses go under screens on him, he’s not really elite at driving the ball either. So the idea lets play him at point is so silly. Even the second unit looks best when Seth, or Nik pump faking and driving and kicking. It helps create spacing for Meyers and Collins because teams have to respect Seth and Nik. I feel like NO is determined to make them show case ET and its just killing this team. Unless you can set up the offense at an Elite level like a Rondo having a guy who isnt a threat from outside of 15 be your play maker is just bad offense.

Then on defense yes they play ok when Nurkic / Zach clog up the paint but their perimeter defense has basically been the same BAD scheme for years. They get their bigs in foul trouble all the time, and if the bigs back off to keep from fouling its a lay up line out there.

All that said, just find some way to win the next two at home...

My god the refs were garabage no matter how you want to look at it. 34 FTA to 10, 13 fouls to 24. This was such a shitty shitty way to lose and people will say "don't blame the refs" but i'm not sure how you don't blame the refs when its this blatant. When you get fucked this hard by the refs its impossible to win.

Clippers had 6 players with double digit FG attempts, meanwhile we have Dame and CJ jack up 48 of the teams 97 shots...
And why do you think we have to rely on them so much? Watch the latest TrueBlazerFan video. You might agree with some of the points I make.

But who needs Melo right

OK, you were right. At the time the subject first came up the team's primary problem was defensive lapses. You correctly predicted the offense was going to implode and that even Melo would be a big improvement. I (and others) wrongly thought defense was going to remain the problem, and we were willing to trust the offense. We were wrong, Mea Culpa.

Remember when the talk was of losing Curry after one year? Now I’m hoping he doesn’t pick that option up. Has he done anything outside of the occasional set three? Why does he play over Stauskas?
Last ten games (not including tonight):

Curry has been our best +/- guy, and was again tonight. Stauskas has been terrible. He was good tonight, though, and deserved more minutes, but not at the expense of Curry.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Curry may be our version of Kyle Korver - another guy who has been a perpetual +/- leader despite being basically nothing but a shooter. If you're good enough of a shooter to demand attention, it helps everyone else out.

17 minutes, 4 pts and rebound, that's not playing well. Guys he was on scored at will.

Hes coming back from an injury. I hope he isn't being butthurt again.

Obviously the Clippers felt embarrassed, which is why they missed so many of them. They did their part.

You say that as if having a malcontent who's barely a better shooting and much worse on defense will help us.

I say that as if Melo is an efficient post up player who gets easy buckets. He would also open things up by just being Carmelo Anthony. No ones leaving Melo on an island like they do with Aminu.

Calling Noah Vonleh! Good news is Meyers has built trade value!

And his defense would give up as many points as he provides. They're in different universes defensively. Switching defense out for offense doesnt work. We need reliable two-way players.

I thought the refs were really good today.

Our team wasnt.

There is no way that the Blazers committed nearly twice as many fouls in that game as the Clippers! The Blazers do not have even a fair shake from the refs on their home court! This is one issue for which the coaches must be faulted. I see Doc Rivers screaming at the refs all night and getting enough calls to give his team a 23-8 advantage in scored FT. The Blazer coaches should demand fair treatment and be advocating for our team. And the NBA should realize the need for the home team to feel just treatment. Rivers should be given technical fouls when he rants rather than be favored by those extra fouls called.

With a game reffed on a balanced basis, I think that the Blazers would have won this game.

Maybe? In a game like that he could have held down Harrell on the mid range but he would have needed help around the rim. Harrell doesn't shoot well so he could have work the passing lanes a bit. Melo is still a smart player and does effect the game on the defensive side.

Stotts needs to freak out and get a tech or ejected once in a while...he's too mellow with refs and they know he'll keep it civil
