Where’s everyone on a game day? Maybe they’re already waiting for next season

same way all over.

about 3 years ago the RealGM Blazer game threads were 6-10 pages long (120-200 posts). And often longer depending on the opponents. The Denver game had 13 replies; Utah game had 15 replies; last night's game had 7 replies

why is this? My spidey sense says it's because people don't have any enthusiasm for the seemingly endless mediocrity of Olshey-vision. The risk-adverse management and imbalanced rosters. The team's trajectory is capped and has been for years because the talent-level is restricted by the biases of Olshey's ego

there's always a carrot dangling. There's one dangling right now because 15 of the next 19 games are at home. 40 games in Portland will very likely have a record that suggests the team is better than it actually is. An annual event. But year after year the playoffs prove the dangling carrots were always mirages. Does anybody really believe this season will be different?

So much this. The will go on a run. The expectations will grow, and then the Playoff flame out will come because they are no longer playing those teams they got hot against."

.....and then Dame will be another year older.

Not me, the Dame/Cj era. It’s getting stale and it shows by fan interest. But the good news is it’s clear a rebuild is coming soon
Honest question..... where were you during this bro? Do you have any memory whatsoever how horrible this was? I do. Be careful that your daily wish of a teardown comes true.Screen Shot 2021-12-01 at 10.32.25 AM.png

Would your reaction be the same if we had a GM we had confidence in?

I would argue that right now we have the worst of both worlds - a "win now" team that isn't very good and an aging roster that will only get worse.

I don't like our current situation....... but a complete teardown is a HUGE process to put your fanbase though. How were YOU doing during those two seasons?

I figured from the beginning that Nash was hired as a fall guy. It looked to me like they were tearing down without having a rebuild plan to implement. More like PA got frustrated and broke his toy in a temper tantrum.

I don't know how things will turn out with teams like OKC, Houston, or Detroit, but they are at least bringing in players who give some hope for the future.

I wonder how things would be currently if they had hired a real Basketball guy like Chad Buchanan instead of a used-car salesman?

How many GMs are out there that all of us would have confidence in? Not very many. And those are not coming here for a rebuild. We would be getting someone without much experience hoping they hired the right person.

Then you need to add in the factor that we might not get that "top free agent" as the Lakers had to rely on. They sucked for 6 years and would still be mediocre at best without LBJ. That won't work here. If the Rose Garden (or whatever the fuck the name is) is empty you might as well help them pack for Seattle.

Yeah that sucked in the moment but I would offer that those couple of seasons led to us getting Roy, Aldridge, and Oden. Which is the only time in the last two decades that it ever felt like we were building towards an actual contender. No matter how fleeting and unlucky it wound up for us, I'd still take that feeling again over more of this stagnant mediocrity.

Also was happy to see a Fire Olshey sign outside at the game last night. Let's hope the failed actor didn't have the dude banned for life.

Shit those years got us broy LMA etc… I’ll take that in a heartbeat than this dumpster fire we have now

Yep i take the rebuild and the hope that somehow the Blazers can build a championship contender, hopefully without Olshey. Because this shit isn't working, and really frustrating. Mediocrity is the worst shit that can happen to a NBA Team. Like Albert Einstein said: "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."
This idiot Olshey should have traded CJ years ago, instead of expecting a different result every year

Ha Ha. BRoy and Aldridge got us exactly 3 first round outs.

Replace "Dame/Cj era" with "Tunchi/Aldo era" and see if you have it in you to take a moment to reflect. (Doubtful.) And by "a rebuild is coming soon," surely you mean, "a new handle is coming soon"?

No we need a rebuild and you know it
