Do you want the Blazers to tank for a good lotto pick at this point in the season?

sure whatever. Downplay every time he has a good game when we both know this forum unfairly shitted on CJ and naively heralded Ant as the next Michael Jordan at the beginning of the year.
Did I downplay his good game? Or his past good games?

you don't understand...you're only allowed to judge him by the last 2 weeks and his last 10 games....not by his first 6 years and 460 games

CJ has scored over 20 ppg in most-all of his playoff games. Try again.

I wouldn’t hesitate to trade Whiteside in the right deal but he’s really been a god send could you imagine our team without him right now?

We still need another big dunno why it’s getting ignored.

so? People have made up their minds on CJ by watching him in 480 games over 7 seasons. Regular season and playoffs. Some internet poster telling everybody how wrong they are about CJ every time he has a good game will not change any minds

you know, you simply could have shown up and praised CJ for the game he had. Talked about his hot shooting and active hands. But you just had to try and throw I-told-you-so-shit at people who you've argued with about CJ in the past. Action just about guaranteed to get push-back....but maybe you just wanted an argument

by the way, CJ had 1.5 points/shot and 4 assists

Dame, the guy you "shit on" a lot, scored 2.0 points/shot and had 10 assists

Not sure what you want done now... free agent bigs would probably be worse than Skal, maybe we trade Tolliver before the deadline, with our 15th spot we may need a backup PG FA if Simon's keeps struggling.

And yet, you constantly do the exact seem thing, trying to convince people how bad CJ is, even though his volume of work has him ranked among the best in the league. Typical wannabe stats guy, failing to see his own lack of objectivity.

Haven't read through all this, but thought it was funny listing to Lamar trying to respond to Webber's criticism of the Blazers iso offense from last night.
I was watching the Kings broadcast.

What'd he say?

Damn CJ after that slow start to the season has been on fire for weeks now. He’s at 45% from the field and 38% from 3 on the season. I was hard on him earlier in the year but he has shut me down.

Simons on the other hand is not untouchable lol

You’ll always just cherry pick stats. CJ could have 100 points in a game and you’ll complain about his assists.

You’ve “made up your mind” about CJ, and I’m just here to remind you you’re wrong. You doubted CJ and he farted in your face, shattering Blazer franchise records and averaging 20+ ppg during the playoffs in the process. But haters still can’t admit it or give him props.

also it’s not just about CJ. It’s about the absurd notion of benching CJ for ant, a 19 year old. That’s just disrespect.

I don't remember anyone suggesting to bench CJ to start Ant....

Most of us 'CJ haters' freely admit that he is a good player. But he's just that.... a good player - nowhere near elite or all-star level that his salary would indicate.

I am in favor of trading CJ for an upgrade at SF, getting a better handle on team salary, & start Hood at SG.

If you're judging him by his last 4.25 seasons, as I am, then I'm not sure how you can dislike him so much. He's been consistently a top ten SG for five seasons now and has career averages of 45.5 FG%, 40 3P% and 83.8 FT%... That's 433 games, not 10. But you're invested now so keep on fighting the good fight. I'll enjoy the fact you spend so much of your time and energy on it.

My only complaint with Dame this game is leaving his feet and having no plan. Dame's been pretty great though and it's good that he's not having to force shots everytime down the court.
He made a couple mistakes. Played great though.

This guy STILL doesn't get that CJ having a good shooting night doesn't change the issues we have with him.

And he can be shooting 80% for the game, when he goes dribble dribble dribble contested long 2 fadeway it's a bad possession. Even if it goes in I don't like the shot.

Now yes, I liked some thing CJ did last night. He was active on defense and had a good lob to Hassan. But to be the best player he can be and help the team he needs to go more into this direction. Less 12 dribble isos, more team play, more passing, more defense.

CJ is a very skilled player. The thing holding him back from being elite (and an all star) is how he uses those skills.

He hasn't played good over weeks, and his passiveness is pissing me off . Which superstar takes only 10 shots when he shooting 50%
Maybe one that just won 4 of the last 5 games? Just a thought?

CJ doesn't fit the style of player you prefer regardless of how effective he is.

Makes sense.

I prefer players that help the team win games. I accept their faults and imperfections.

So quite a bit has been made about team assists and the Blazers. It's a pretty small sample size but adding a shooter and scoring has helped. They were in the basement and will stay there for a while because of how low they were but the last 5 games has them moving up to just over 23 a game and last night was 28.

Reality is the Blazers are a rather new nucleus of players and they do need time to get it together. if they can get it to where they are averaging 23-24 a game they will be on par with most of the NBA. 26 a game would be top 10 so lets wait and see here.

Everytime we pass the ball more than 2 time in a possession we get a wide open shot. I wish we would do that more often.
