It was a great win. I felt they overcame a lot of adversity with the refs. Melo of course was huge early in the 4th. Trent hit that huge 3 late and you had guys making hustle plays.

But when Doc goes to his trap in the 4th using length on the perimeter and has a shot-blocker at the rim.....someone with a mid-range game would have come in handy when Dame went cold. Sorry folks there is no duplication of that skill set for the Blazers.....only CJ.

I’m starting to think The Turk might be more important to keep around than Nurk. We are never gonna play D obviously and Kanter is the better offensive rebounder and scorer, things that compliment Stotts style of play.

Dude I been saying this! He’s better than Nurk! If you want sure start Nurk but Kanter should always play more than Nurkic.

You never know what Nurk your going to get on any given night. He’s a nice defender and passer but that’s about it. I looove Kanter

Nurk in the high post would also be a great option here... To your point, for us to win without those two, with some great schemes down the end was fantastic!

I honestly don't know?
It might help if the Blazers had a player that could actually toss up a lob now and then? This isn't entirely Jones's fault.

I know - Miller made a big deal about them blocking Ant on Dames alley but he wasn’t gonna finish it anyway, the pass was so bad.

Let's just take a second to compare the last two plays of the game:

We run a set where we get the ball to our worst shooter, but because there is a threat he'll hand off to Dame, it pulls Embiid out way past the 3 point line. Philly takes away our #1 option, but because Trent and Ant are the other two wings, the lane is wide open for Melo to draw the foul. Great play design and use of personnel.

On the flip side, we come out showing 2 bodies to Embiid (eliminating a quick post up). Glenn River decides to run Green to half court, and with Simmons not a threat to catch and shoot, the play becomes 3 on 5. Our plan to double screwed up the 76ers #1 option, then they broke off the play, and we were perfectly positioned with multiple guys to help.

That's great end game management and execution!

Melo not on the bench? Please tell me we sent him home for good
Haven't read the whole thread yet. Please tell me you took the time to give him his much deserved props after the game.
